HK, is it true there will always be the same amount of water on this earth? What happens to water after our body processes it?

think of the Earth as a closed system. how are you going to add water to it? water may change locations(oceans, glaciers, us) but no water is added.

Yes, but can water be destroyed? What happens to water when we defecate?

Thermodynamic teaches us that the amount of energy in the universe is constant.

Seems pretty clear until you consider the fact of entropy. How are the two reconciled?

The amount of energy in the universe stays the same. The amount of usable energy constantly declines.

Entropy is a bitch - The universe will be a cold, lonely, dark place in just 30 billion years or so.

As a brief aside; When the universe was formed, (and we're talking Planck's time here) the only elements in existence were hydrogen and lithium. (I've argued on occasion that it's hydrogen and stupidity but that's a separate discussion). All other elements were forged in the atomic furnace of stars and spread via solar winds. Carl Sagan famously said "We're all star stuff."
