I really hate that I have to get out of my car to get it washed. I understand that people like to get their car vacuumed out, but I vacuum my own and hate that walk of shame up to the front of the car wash place, through the building with all the high priced crap and windows watching the cars get soaped up. I long for the days when I could just pull in, put it in neutral and let the car wash pull my car through while I sit inside. It seems to take way too long the way it is, and there is the awkward moment with the tip. Do I give it to the guy or put it in the tip bucket? It is a hassle!
That's one of the benefits of living in the big city. Out here in the sticks, I've never gotten out of my car to have it washed.

Around here you rarely ever get out. There's a place where we get our work vans washed, if it rains with in 24 hours of your wash you get the next one free. I dont know how it works but it sounds like a good idea.

if i couldn't smoke a fat joint whilst the scrubby scrubbies and wishy washies cleaned my car i wouldn't do it. putting the vehicle in neutral and getting pulled along the trac is such a relaxing feeling. all major roads and highways should operate like that. plus the giant hairdyer at the end is fantastic, i always try and open my window as it is winding down to air everything out.

you answered your own question. if they didn't make you get out, you'd be less likely to buy any of that junk.

Most of the time I go to the kind of carwash where you do it yourself with a powerwasher.

I didn't realize it was so defunct. I don't know where you live, but in Roselle Park NJ there is one....also around me I have the kind you hate + one where you get out and have it "hand-washed". Never been to one of those, seems like it would take too much time. But the sit in yr car, stay in neutral is so great if you have a kid, which I do....then I go to the other ones when I need my insides of my windows cleaned....but my kid enjoys watching the cars then too.

there are two i go to. i prefer the one you can stay in the car thru. the other makes you get out, but i only go there to get my oil changed and they throw in the car wash for free.

You can ask if you can stay in the car. Most of the time they'll let you. I like to pretend a giant octopus is attacking us.

I've never gotten out of my car for a car wash before. And lately, I've been using the automated ones. Some of them suck, but some are pretty good. Though I do usually have to bend my front license plate back into position sometimes.

I find they do a better job when I have to get out of my car, so I don't mind it. I've never bought anything they sell in the little "waiting room" where you pay. When the weather is warmer I try to wash it myself.

Haha.. I've never asked, but next time I will! Sounds like fun.

you are all embarrassing.
I will never let any machine or person(unless professional detailed) to touch my car.
I always go to the Do-It-Yourself car washes or wash it all by hand at home.
lazy people.

You're just afraid that dirt is all that's holding your jalopy together!
Now go buy a new car and a Mac and enjoy life.

Leasing a car would be better.

You fancy city folk and your automatic car washing machines. I wash my own vehicles like a man.
