I am actually seeing both sides of this. Danny was mouthing off to Patrice like he would anybody else on the staff, but Patrice is a GUEST of the show. Even though he is a friend and on rather frequently, he is still a guest and should be treated as such.

However, Patrice escalated the issue to a place it didn't need to go. He went off the deep end and turned it into a much bigger issue than it was.

Of course they just dismiss him and talk over him. And he lost his point mid way through. Jimmy is unlistenable and argues terribly in situations like these.

I feel like they are treading water till the contract is over. And then who knows what? The show has steadily been in decline on FM. I think mainly for the reasons Stern left earlier- its impossible to be edgy; its too far censored and madated by lawyers. With the stations flipping and changing so often its hard for ratings to solidify and improve.

I dunno; Maybe I'm in the minority. I hope they come back strong somewhere. I still love 202.

The caller should have corrected his speaking error if he actually made an error. He was talking heavily about the problems with the show, but his impetus was complaining about Jimmy's fake radio voice.

If you want to hear that call, call. I am less than satisfied with "The Opie and Anthony Show," but I don't agree with the average criticisms. I am not interested in a variation on the Money Snatch Game or a Reddest Ass Contest. I enjoy the casual conversations that happen on the show. What I get fed up with is the way that O&A get to the XM studio and then proceed to mumble and complain about their walk over, trip on the elevator, messed up smoothie orders, and so on.

A clever caller would call the show and relay the happenings of his or her morning commute while eating wads of chips. But, it seems the kinds of callers intent on annoying the host of their favorite show are calling Ron Bennington with their radios on the highest volume setting, relaying how they are first time callers, have Ichibans, love Mooch's musical tastes, think Ronnie sounds like a million bucks, wonder how much cum is in Fez's ass, 86504 my buddies!!! HOOO WAH!


On the subject of the show, I love how NPR Programming is getting such mad endorsements from Virus shows recently. First, Ron gushing about Terry Gross's Fresh Air; now, Louis CK talking about Ira Glass's This American Life. Both shows are great. Mike Burbiglia sometimes does segments on TAL. An Giant Pool of Money was co-created between TAL and All Things Considered. I heard the podcast and was amazed by the information. Contrary to Liberal-bashing naysayer opinion, NPR is the only news source in the states providing somewhat balanced analysis.

As for new 202 programming I think a logical choice would be Jim Breuer and crew, not sure why he got nuked from Rawdog but when I had Sirius I enjoyed his show. Another choice would be to set aside 2-3 hours a day for "friends of the show" show. Can have the likes of Lewis Black, Bill Burr, Nick Dip, Jim Jeffries, Fat Bob, etc. come in and host ad hoc.

That is an absolute falsehood. The DTV tech just wanted to use the existing cable wiring to run the satellite. To have both, they have to run more lines and they probably were being lazy. Trust me on that.
