Filet O Fish is the only one I'd trust (only on Fridays,) and only because I know that people buy them. I can't imagine that BK/Wendy's/Arbys, etc moves a lot of fish.

it's like the worst thing to eat on the entire menu but Mc D's fish sandwich is my fav. ONLY if it's just been made though, when i have time i'll ask them to make it fresh.

I have only had one fast food fish sammich which was from MC Ds and I got sick for 24 hours nearly having to go to the hospital. I had a student of mine give me an IV the next morning for hydration.

Never again, I buy my own fish from then on and cook it the way I want.

McDonalds is the "classic" just because it's been around the longest. Plain bun, cheese and what they used to advertise as a Gorton's fish filet. And for those notorious cheap catholics they are having a 2 for $3 special for Lent.

Burger King is a larger patty, a nice bun, and they throw in lettuce. It ain't bad.

Wendys is claiming that it's a whole filet and can name the fish it's made of, I had theirs once and it was all right.

KFC's fish snacker is just an oily, soggy mess.

Arthur Treacher's fish sandwich (which I've only really seen served at a Nathan's counter in a food court) is really good fish because it's the same they serve on the plates, but it's a really small piece of fish for a sandwich.

I really haven't had any others.

HELLZ YES: as long as that lobster roll has butter. The kind with disgusting mayo is lobster salad.

That's it, I'm going to get one this weekend.

A close second would be the Fried Clam Roll (whole clams, not strips).

No, no, no, no. You're ALL wrong.

For "fast food" places, the correct answer is the fish taco from Maui Taco.

Unfortunately, they're all but nonexistent on the US mainland.

But, the marinade is so easy you can just make it yourself (lime juice, pineapple juice, garlic, salt & pepper) and cook your fish yourself. Lots of stores are running specials on mahi mahi right about now, but it'd work with cod, halibut or even swordfish if you were so inclined.

The odd thing was that Ray Krok didn’t want to sell the fish sandwich because he thought no one would buy it (I was watching a show on McDonald's the other night).

Krok had this thing called the Hula Burger which was a grilled slice of pineapple on a bun with cheese that he wanted to sell on Fridays (this was when Catholics wouldn't eat meat on any Friday). But a franchisee in Ohio came up with the fish sandwich and he and Krok had a competition. Which ever one sold the best would go on the menu. And the rest, is history.

My ex and I had 2 salmon steaks left over after we had cooked so we breaded and baked them. Then we took cilantro, crushed pineapple well drained, and diced tomatoes and put it on top of the fish. I ate mine in a good roll (forget what type) about the size of a small sub. It was so yummy that I had wished we had more. Her daughter (who is a very good eater, except mushrooms) chomped hers down too.

2 best fish sandwiches I've ever had:

Grouper sandwich at some place in Naples FL.

And an Ahi Tuna burger at some shack on the PCH in Malibu.

Fish tacos rock. Cook the fish, separate/chunk it with 2 forks, mix with taco seasoning and sour cream, serve in a taco shell with whatever toppings you like. Yum!

I think I just shot a load looking at these 2 pics

back to grilled chicken for my fat dieting ass

P.S , all fast food joints have awful processed fish sammiches, just eat fries and pies if you must have fast food during lent

or grow some class and venture out and eat fresh fish

Maui Tacos is THE BEST "fast food" I have ever eaten. Relatively inexpensive, too.

And, if you go to an actual store, you get to partake of the salsa bar. YUM!

On The Boarder has a passable fish taco, but its not really a fast food joint.
I found this seafood guide at seafoodwatch.org (http://www.seafoodwatch.org) recently and it shows the kind of fish you should eat to support sustainable catch.

I always forget we have a Legal Seafoods at the mall. For some reason the one in Huntington always comes to mind first. I think I block out Roosevelt Field since I hate the perimeter road with every fiber of my being.
