my favorite park is prospect park; its just as beautiful as central park, with less people, less tourists. i play soccer there every sunday morning. its really cool.
honorable mention: tompkins square park; its cool to look at weirdos, junkies, and whatnot.

I love Bryant Park...always been my fave. Monday night movie showings in the summer and concerts. It's just a great place to hang. I miss going there for lunch

one night i went to riverside park to meet this girl and collect some contraband (basically, prescription drugs that i was using to get high). she was late. so i had to wait. it was bad that i had to wait because it smelled really bad there at riverside park. not sure if this is normal or abnormal, but it smelled a lot like the bathroom after someone went into the bathroom. i will not go to riverside park ever again.

washington square park without question. the history. the atmosphere. granted in the past 8 years its become a little touristy, and there are too many cops so you cant smoke up there anymore, but guliani is gone so i can only hope it will return to its original splendor.

i agree that prosect park is better during the summer because it is cooler and has less people. but lets get real people, central park has great shows, and most importantly a great place to go running (the reservoir- sand track, water, trees,...)

My favorite park has to be Battery Park. I love that part of town for its history and crooked streets, and that park is just such a nice oasis at the tip of this big island of steel and concrete.
I also really like Madison Square (which is called a square but is basically a park, and is located on 23rd street, not on 34th (the original MSG was located down on 23rd)), but mostly for the area right next to it, in front of the Flatiron Building on Broadway. That's gotta be my favorite part of Manhattan - go there late when not many people are around and look at the Flatiron - just so cool.

Besides Central Park, Holmdel
Park in Jersey. They have an
arboretum there(non native plants & trees)where at the top of the hill, you have room
to lay out a blanket, hang with your girlie...well, use
your imagination! cya

Lake Minnewaska State Park in New Paltz, NY. It's quiet and serene and the hiking is great.
