First of all, yes, GAZ is overwhelmingly positive, but I don't recall him saying anyone was an idiot for disagreeing with him. Quite the opposite happens to him though.

Personally, I don't love 100% of every show, and I don't presume GAZ does either. The show is pretty varied in its approach to it's audience, so no one is going to like everything. I don't dwell too much on the stuff I'm not into, because there's a decent chance something is coming down the pike that I'll find more enjoyable. I don't think it makes me a kiss ass, and I certainly don't fault the people who focus on the stuff they don't like.

This is something I've been wondering, and maybe someone who's visited the studio can fill me in. What does Fez do when he "freezes up"?

For example, on last Friday's show after the Mikey D thing, Fez went nearly an entire break without saying anything while Ron, Dave, Pepper, and Scruffy carried on a conversation. At the end of the break, Ron pointed it out and asked Fez to please get involved in the show.

What does he do during those times? Does he go out of the room and do other work, or make phone calls? When he stops talking for a long time, I get a weird picture in my head of him just sitting there in his chair watching people do the show with a blank look on his face, unable to do much of anything. :sad:

i didn't write they were friends anyway, i wrote that he knows him in real life. They atleast have exchanged phone numbers and have called eachother.

I definitely agree. He has the balls to call Kelly Osbourne fat when she has a teenager, but he is embarrassed by his own body.
I think you have to know that ball busting is a game, but it requires balance. The line between funny and hurtful is thin. Fez should have a big belly laugh after every insulting phone call as he thinks about that pay check. Fez needs to embrace his gifts and his luck, while pushing off the negative.

Fuck man, I might be in the minority here. Jay Mohr is funny as fuck whenever he calls in. Fez on the other hand really is a 3rd mic on his own show. I get more disappointed when I hear Dave won't be on than I have in years when Fez isn't on. All the dude contributes to the show lately is uncomfortable "oh ok"s, crying, and bringing up his own tired ass psychoses over and over and over. Oh yeah, there's also the horribly cringeworthy Nature Boy rants. The show is too good and too smart to keep getting dragged down into the spiraling oversensitivity/madness of Fez.

Don't you find it curious that the days when Dave isn't there, like March 2nd, Fez is a LOT more communicative? It's because he doesn't have his crutch there. I've argued this point many times before, it's a fucking sick cycle going on with Fez. You say that Dave is in the studio because Fez shuts down (when we know that's not always true, as Ron has explicitly chastised Dave before for not allowing Fez a chance to get involved with the show and has even criticized Fez before for letting it happen), I say that Fez shuts down because of Dave. The truth of the matter is that we're both likely right at least some of the time, but we're at the point now, I think, where this whole fucking process is self-fulfilling. And what I mean to say about that is, Fez will shutdown because he KNOWS that someone's going to be there to take over for him. Which is why, as I mentioned, that on the (rare, wonderful) Dave-free shows, Fez is a lot more talkative. Because he knows he has to be.

One would think the logical solution would be to thus have less Dave on the show, to force Fezzie to interact, but too many of you love Dave more, or so it seems.

Personally, it's just depressing to turn on a show that I've listened to for years, and half the time the only fucking point of the show where Fez speaks up and has any energy is when he's reading a fucking prepared plug for a live read.

I don't disagree that Fez may see Dave as a crutch, but i think Dave needs to be heard on the show. I love Fez, and do not want to see his role diminished, but I see it as, and this is just my opinion, The Ron Bennington Show, with Fez and Dave as co-hosts. Fez has given me some of the hardest laughs i've had on the show, and I love the days when he's feeling good. However, Ron talking to Fez alone limits the conversation. Ron needs to bring Dave in to have someone to discuss music, movies and sexual things with. Also, Fez isn't able to debate with Ron like Dave can. Not that either Fez or Dave can compete with Ron in an argument, but Fez typically just cant hold his own. I don't want to see any less Fez, the more the better, but having Dave in broadens the horizons.
