I like Stuntbrain. I thought he was gonna suck on Opie and Anthony, but he ended up being a really solid producer.
Ron and Fez should look into hiring him. It would get a shit ton of pressure off of Fez, and I think Stunty is fast, which was the main complaint about Earl Douglas.

Just throwing it out there.

He always had whatever it was O&A needed, and he was quick about it.
He was smart, always added his own POV into any conversation he was in and it made you think.

From what I heard, he was actually pretty bright and could talk. I think he could have some interesting convos with Ron if Fez is having a bad day.

I agree. It's great that O&A and R&F have guys working for them that are fans of the show and get what they do, but a straight up radio producer was great for O&A to have. I think he would work fairly well on R&F.

I think a competent producer could actually hurt the R&F show. All the show needs is Ron Bennington and people around for him to make fun of.

Seems like ronnie feels differently. I think there are many days he would love a consistent guy behind the scenes.

Some of the best moments were when Earl would screw up and Ron and Dave would berate him for an hour. Especially when it would lead into Dave doing Earl's Grandmother impressions from heaven.

I disagree wholeheartedly.

Rory was at the helm for some of their best radio. Dukes. Giant Brian.

I like the idea of Stunt being a part of the R&F show. In what capacity, I'm not sure, but he brings a ton of experience to the table.

Nobody but the Mooch.

I feel you. Creatively, Mooch is the by far best choice.

But as far as a solid EP that can get shit done, Stunt seems to be the guy.
(I say this knowing not shit of what Mooch does other than openers. So take this with a grain of salt).

I missed today's show and am unable to listen to the replay right now. Was there any talk of the "big announcement" Ron mentioned yesterday? I thought it might have something to do with the EP position.

This about sums up my feelings, especially when Earl left.

Mooch brings a lot of creativity to the table, but Stunt brings a ton of experience.

What would a solid producer do that would improve the show? Find the background song to play quickly whenever a song or movie theme is mentioned? Create more characters for the doorbell? Think up more Florio's bets?

I contend that the show needs screw-ups...that is their whole gimmick. People screw up and Ron makes fun of them. I love it.

A producer organizes the show, the talent, the show prep, and other things that happen off the air.

The show does not need more screwups. I'm sure a lot of Ron's anger is probably played up for the show itself, but there have been times when the anger in his voice has a tinge of being a "shoot".

I would love to see Stuntbrain as the EP for R&F! I think he brought a lot to the table on O&A. Very smart and quick. He knew answers to questions before they asked them half of the time.

I hope he lands on his feet, but I don't see this happening. I think as EP he'd get shit done, but that may not be good for the show (Ron having stuff to gripe about is fodder for some good comedy.)

He's both sharp and knows a lot about everything, which kind of encroaches on Ron territory.

A producer's job is not to be air talent. R&F and O&A have their producers be regular parts of the show, so much so that an O&A producer and a R&F producer have their own show. That's kind of unique.

In a perfect world, I'd like to see Stunt and Dave as co-EP's, with Mooch and Pepper rounding out the crew.

I remember when stunty first came to them and OA where constantly doucheing him and seemed very unaccepting.

Now I have the feeling that they really appreciated the guy.

I would like to have him on R&F.

He might be a good fit. Because he is a professional producer, not someone trying to fit into the show.
I have always thought the show needed/deserved a real EP, someone to handle the business of radio and let the talent Ron, Fez and yes, ESD do their job.

It seems, at times, that both show use the Producers as a crutch. Its great to hear some other input but they are not 3rd or 4th mics. Hire a 3rd or 4h mic if thats what you want.

Don't even get me started on their own shows.

Stuntbrain has 100 times more experience then Dave, it would be an insult to him to Co-EP. Dave could learn a lot from someone with real experience, Earl (god rest him) wasn't that guy to help Dave.

Bottom line, If O&A got Earl the EP gig for R&F.......then why not help out Stuntbrain.

I didn't really listen to the WJFK era, so I can't comment on Giant Brian. However, Dukes was before, not after, the Rory exec-producing era. After all, Rory boxed Al for the position.

Would that be too much payroll in the middle of a shaky period for Sirius/XM?

I never thought about that but yeah its educated points of view, no bullshit stories being made up by the shit eater.

i really prefer a producer who is a good personality rather than one with no personality. Ron is the funniest at goofing on people's weirdness and incompetence..if they had an uninteresting guy who got the job done i don't see how it helps the show at all.

He did a better job producing O&A compare to the other clowns they have.

how? the FM show has been terrible longer than hes been there

Hence why I said "in a perfect world". As we know, SiriusXM is far from perfect.

I agree with this one. I think Mooch is a better fit than someone who may not get the show. In my opinion the best O&A has been in the past few days after the whole CBS thing. I couldn't stand that free fm crap.

Why is everyone so supportive of Mooch? What do we really know of him other than his openers and a couple fights he had with Lilly and Franklyn. How hard is it really to put together an obscure movie reference with an obscure 80s song?
