I remember that the Wonderful World of Disney (that's right..I am Old!!!) did a three cartoon episode with him, Pecos Bill, and Paul Bunyon.

And soon to be dead Patrick Swyaze did a Pecos Bill live action film with John Henry.

I have a book on American Tall Tales that I got as a kid. It had a story of a bunch of slaves that were horribly mistreated by their slave owner who one day, sprouted wings and flew away...I have always been interested in that one. But never really could find anything about it. Anyone ever hear about it?

As much as I love Johnny Cash, I've hated every version of his John Henry song that I've ever heard.

I had that on Beta and watched it all the time as a kid. I loved how Paul and Babe wrestling created the Rocky Mountains.
