My Dad's Triple Bypass

On March 23rd, my dad is going to triple bypass surgery. If I am still not working, I was thinking of coming back down to Florida to help out while he is in the hospital.

Is this a good idea? My sister is trying to get her work schedule cleared so that she can drive down with me. Regina would be staying home. I can make the drive by myself but would rather not.

As a lot of you know, my Dad is pretty sick already with lung cancer and a heart stent and our relationship has not always been good but it is now.

What say you?

i say Fly to Florida because driving to Florida sounds just awful.
but either way... it's a great idea.

Flying is still way too much. driving is 80 bucks each way in gas

i think driving is good because you can really clear your head. especially if you're by yourself. that used to be the only time i was able to just think about anything important cause i didnt have other family or work stuff butting it. driving is good thinking time.


& of course having xm helps. & i'm glad you're able to spend as much time with him as possible.

No matter what the deal is go and see him.
When it's all said and done family is family and your dad will think a lot of you coming to see him.
With my dad he does not show the love but i know he respects me for my love for my family.
Go and see him, you don't know how long he will be around and you will always look back on this time if you don't go.

you should be able to get a flight for $99.....

as far as triple bypass....I don't think I would ever do it. It worked for Letterman and Philbin, though.

you got to go, you will regret it if god forbid something happens. Go down and show him support. just the feeling of knowing you are there will help him get better quicker and have a reason to feel good
