My husband and I disagree about this all the time. I'm private, he's public.
However if Mojo ever becomes a public school teacher my kids must be in his history class. That's my one exception.

it depends where you live.
if the town has a good system, then i say go public.
but if the resources are sub-par and you have the means to give your kid a better education... then go private.
My parents sent me to private school because the public schools were full of drug dealers.

product of public schools & have a good career.
so is my brother who's a lawyer & my boyfriend who's a surgeon.
it really depends on the person.
some people go to private school & don't really get the education or training they needed to succeed in life.

i have never been around more drugs then at a private school. Public school better prepares you for real life, since you have to deal with people from all over

Tough call. Depends on where you live. One gives you street smarts, the other book smarts. Either way, I will hug them both in a firery embrace.

Product of the catholic school system myself and my kids. I just wrote my LAST high school tuition check this month. Both of my kids got into the college of their choice.

It's your kids future. You can't put a price on that. My daughter is going private all the way. No religious bullshit teaching her about how "God" made everything and evolution is a theory.

if it's a good school and you can afford it, sure... but I have seen the curriculum and teachings of the local Catholic school and it lacks a lot... I prefer my kid to learn reading and writing and math before he worries about the depths of the bible 2/3rds of the education... having to take extra lessons to catch up on basic skills.

Well if it absolutely can't be done it can't be done and that really sucks, but the pros definitely outweigh the cons anyway you look at it.
