Yeah, Opie's twitter is a good read.

Morning all! Today will be a day of many random thoughts...I'm amazed that people took sides in the fight 'cause that wasn't the intention.

When Tom Chiusano was fired I think we both knew that this was the beginning of the end for regular radio for us. I loved working for Tom.

After Tom they brought in a GM that was in charge of a couple of stations. I liked her but she wasn't really familiar with what we did

After her they brought in "the terminator" who fired us when we were in Boston. Had no prob w/ him. Here's the kicker...we never saw him

During the last year we were losing a station here and there. This was extremely frustrating especially the one's we knew weren't our fault.

My major issue is I wear my emotions on my sleeve, Ant not so much but I know he was just as bothered by all the changes that were going on

Fast forward to the last day on my honeymoon when I found out we lost Boston and Cleveland. Ant and I were devestated. Came out of nowhere.

I knew this meant the end for regular radio and that it was a matter of time. Trying to do radio everyday waiting for this was brutal.

We kept our chins up and did the best show possible. Heard rumblings of a format change but no one was talking. Monday it finally goes down

We were both real bummed but more relieved cause we knew that it was a no win situation. Both our nerves were red hot.

The biggest prob was trying to compete with ourselves. Listeners that love the show got XM meaning, no ratings for our commercial show.

After getting dropped by Krock I thought it would be smart to take a few days so we could work through the emotions. I was denied.

Yuck my grammer and spelling is atrocious! Sorry, writing off the cuff and pushing update

I think we immediately found our groove and the exclusive show was sounding REAL good and effortless last week. Ant and I were getting along

The day of the fight we actually had a great first hour so I was surprised that the blow up happened when it did. Not really it was time.

I think the fight had to happen. We've had a bunch over the years. I don't regret what I said and I'm sure Ant doesn't either and that's ok

It would piss me off to if I was doing ok at a job yet they decided to fire me anyway, personally I thought they had done their best radio in the past few months, surprised the blow up happened on air but nobody should be surprised tensions were building.

I still dont think opie is stupid to think he could make nearly as much money on his own.

Regular radio sucks though.

I just wish he would admit with more honesty that the CBS Show was screwing the XM Fans, and the whole thing never had a good flow.

BUT, its cool of him to put himself out there like that so I won't shit on the guy.....too much.

Op's honesty is commendable. He and Ant needed a good brew-ha-ha to get it out and now that the air is cleared of stress (until next contract negotiation, or if Howard gets his suits to pressure the boys).

We should have communicated, off air, our frustrations. Then again, if we did you wouldn't have gotten that Holy S radio. I love real radio.
Moving forward I have no doubt the show is going to be even better. I hear a better show already.
Anthony and I are very different people. Most of the listeners have only realized that recently. I think this is real good for the show.
The show will be just fine for the foreseeable future and I look forward to the possibilities. You will be hearing a much better show.
When the time comes to move on I want to assure you that my motivation will not be based on being the top dog or how much money! THE END

I wonder who opie has monitoring the message boards for him?

And no matter what he says, money is the last factor in decision making for jobs, do you think his hot little wife would stay with him if he was making $102k a year in NY? No fucking way, she would move on the some other more financially secure 50 year old.

and Anthony saying "everyday we have to hear about how you're sick", i can't think of anytime i have ever heard of opie talk about being sick. I can think of many times Anthony doesn't seem "into the show". And Opie bringing up him being too into paltalk over the show...fuckin' amazing

Anthony is a bitch. All I can say is, listening to this fight reaffirms my decision to quit following this rubbish. I always liked Op and Jimmy, but Ant is intolerable.

I thought that fight was very telling, i find o&A very frusterating to listen to because of the frequent whining and ranting by either opie or anthony about trivial bs. Both of them are so wrapped up in their own world that neither have perspective anymore. They both blame the other for losing cbs because they of course are such "talents" that it cant be their fault. They reminded me of george from seinfeld bitching about not getting the ted danson jet.
Opies rant about how great they were doing, how great their show is and what a disaster it was to now be only on xm was garbage, so was both o&a's rants against sirius-xm management their now sole source of income. Take out a full page ad- opie kept saying. Take out one yourself millionare!!

Opie cant just keep saying how great he is and whine about not getting the howard stern treatment when if he was truly great they would not lose markets. No number one show gets cut.

Opie and Anthony are lucky to be on sattellite radio its an amazing opportunity for them and if they want to sabatoge it because they dont get the "star" treatment then go ahead and leave.

I would also like to add that although this is my first post i am no troll, i love ron&fez and have been listening for 4 years.

my personal opinion is that Opie + funnyman can always make for great radio. He really knows how long to spend on a topic, how to bring up new topics, how to move on..hes the best at bringing the best out of funny people

Everything he talked about revolved around his money (or a degree away from his money..like "this is the new gun i bought with my money" or "this is how obama is going to take my money"). Anthony is too self-centered to put on a show that people would want to listen to. When Ant is alone, its a show about Anthony, when Opie is in charge its a show about whats going on in the world

i know you listen to the show. regardless of who you agree with in this particular fight if you dont notice opie talking daily about how he's sick then you have selective hearing.

every single day opie either complains about having the sniffles, some sort of stomach problem or congestion. its constant with him.

I don't blame Opie or Anthony for their frustration. I really think they should have been allowed at least a week off after losing the show on K-Rock. It must have been emotionally draining. They had been working on that show for 3 years, and it didn't work out.

you also have consider sir/xm they need all their big shows live right now plus they just started charging extra for online giving them a week off would be a disaster. creatively it will be better but nobody wants to lose fans

the funny thing is, if this week was a week they should've taken off, how come it was better than most weeks they've had in 3 years?

By the way game i hope brodeur gets his historic 551 tonight in his hometown of montreal to tie the great patrick roy who got most of those wins in the same city.

If there is one thing i do like about opie its when he talks about the isles, at least somone on that show likes sports. Still cant even come close to an average ron and east side conversation but at least its something.

Anthony thinks he is manly because he shoots.. uhh paper with 2 thousand dollar guns? Uh here is a pointy toothpick it will still get through... the uhhh... paper

What I dont agree with is that it was done with the intentions to take sides since he knew people would choose sides if two split up.

Again opie would be wise to stick with ant until he reaches retirement since almost any other show he would be second fiddle with any big name comedian and they could hire any producer to do his job.

Also if they would have had a show the past 3 years like it has been the past 6 months I dont think they would have lost any stations, after the first few months they seemed to be phoning it in and then recently the show has been the kind that you have to make sure you catch live. I cant say that just a year ago, you could miss an hour and never have to worry about catching up.

I think the next thing for Opie would be a managment position. Not that it pays as well as on-air talent does, but hey he made his fortune already. I would love to see him get a spot like E-Lo's programing and hiring talent.

I wouldn't pick sides if the show came to an end. I would see what both "moved on" to and judge from there. I get some idea of the Anthony show by how he runs his paltalk rooms (which I only read about since i won't go on there). That shit would last all of a David Lee Roth moment in time.

Bingo. Now that people are talking about it, I do realize that Opie will mention being sick every so often. However, It's 15 seconds per day TOPS. On the other hand, you average break when Ant just stops short of calling Obama a nigger lasts 20 mins. Still, I'll give them all the credit in the world that this week was excellent radio. Real top-notch shit.

My favorite thing about the argument is that they both mentioned things that get message boards chewed out for mentioning. But we just don't get it.

And to add to what they said, Anthony ditches the show for Pussolini and Poker, Opie ditches meetings with advertisers, and both of them openly mention how they don't want to be in the studio on just about any given day... thanks.

I give Ronnie B all the credit in the world, he seeks out ways to do more radio. Opie and Anthony don't want to do their show anymore.

Well, my personal favorite is when they are talking about their disappointment at not being able to do a stupid radio stunt that probably isn't going to be a memorable bit. "The lawyers won't let us do The Reddest Ass Contest on St. Patrick's Day!"

I don't want "Rolling Around in Honey for Money."
I don't want "Money Snatch. (Especially in lieu of the best parts of Money Snatch on WNEW were the naive callers being told the rules of the game prior to the game.)
Their best bits happened from what seemed pure ad-lib.

Now, I can count them being annoyed they can't do a stupid contest that will inspire about one woman and Patty (no offense, Patty) to participate in. On top of that, they will do 3-5 commercials or bumpers a day that have the same stupid formula; the narrator is speaking about how not to do something, the boys say something that is contrary to that message. Great... do you have 40-50 versions of that commercial? Of course you do! It is the only bit the bumper producers know how to do.

Posh Narrator: "Be nice to the callers."

Anthony: "I hate you! I hate you!"

Posh Narrator: "Let the listeners know how important they make you feel."

Opie: I gotta let you folks know something, we didn't even want to come in today."

I found the audio here. I couldn't get the break vid to work. I think the FM show was irrelevant for a long time. It was the same tired jokes over and over. I thought the begining of the week after they got let go was pretty true to what the were a couple of years ago.
