Along with all the shit going along with china, is this nations attacking when we are weak or is this joe bidens plan to get into office since he was the one that said obama was going to face a international crisis in the first 6 months.
Also, what countries would be with us if we were to get attacked?
Oh yeah Venezuela is really pissing me off (http://www.breitbart.com/article.php?id=CNG.9776268a25e75ad5b44b4d87e8a32a0 2.4a1&show_article=1)

Why would we be attacked by Russia?
Zhikharev indicated that Russia was looking only at occasional use of the facilities -- not setting up permanent bases in the region.
He noted that the Venezuelan constitution prohibited establishment of military bases of foreign states on Venezuelan territory and described the Russian possibile use of the facility there as "we land, we complete the flight, we take off."
Why would we be attacked by Russia?
Because the Americans are weak now comrade, its time to strike at their soft underbelly.

No kidding. Obama was the first canidate in a long time to talk about lifiting a lot of the travel restrictions between Cuba and the US. I hope he's able to move along those lines.

Well we gave them a lot of money since they can now use our machinery to drill in siberia for that oil, I read an article in some financial magazine that talked about how previously frozen areas have been seeing a boom since all the money has started flowing.
Maybe we have been lulled into thinking the lumbering bear is down?
I think its all a political ploy to try and prop up their interests in cuba and venezuela since they are both teetering on collapse.

Russia and Venezuela are both in the same basic economic boat: a false appearance of economic prosperity caused by skyrocketing crude oil prices that have since collapsed.
And you do know the basic difference between "Russia" and "The Soviet Union", right?

Nevermind that the USSR didn't ever actually WANT to go to war wih the USA (or vice-versa) as he's seemingly implying. The Russians aren't sitting around all glum that they missed their chance to go to war with the USA.

The thing about the story, too, is that it's some general popping off his mouth. I become a lot more interested in this story if Putin and/or Medvedev say this.

Yes Im being a smart ass, comrade.
Even though its political grandstanding, it doesnt change the fact its a little bit scary, quite a few world leaders think war brings people out of economically bad times.

Right cause only a few of you get it and the rest of us cant be smart asses at all, as far as any history of the nations, I have read quite a few books on the subject. Its the one topic that fascinates me.

It confuses me because he's lectured us in so many other threads about how he's living in the real world and knows so much more than the rest of us when it comes to politics and history, yet only one subject actually interests him.

The post was done tongue in cheek, hence the wolverines in the title, that should have tipped even to slowest of the slow kids off that it was a sarcastic topic.
You need to branch out and look for more interests.I have plenty, history will teach you a lot about human nature though, shows that humanity has a very short attention span, and greed is not a new thing.

I never said I know more than most in politics, I do know more than most in history.
I do feel I have a grasp on the real world and most of the bullshit talked about by politicians does not work, at least I have come to terms that the two party system does not serve the people very well and both sides have become corrupt pushing for their own self preservation.
So if China did attack us who would buy all their crap? The Argentinians!

Hopefully it will in the future. As it stands right now, you've established yourself as one of the most angry and antagonistic (I should know) posters when it comes to discussing current affairs here.

So you are saying that even though the title was blatantly obvious that it was a sarcastic remark, that means I was being antagonistic?
I have never said war is any kind of an answer in any post I have made, I just refuse to be sucked into the ideology that one side holds the answers.
I guess I will have to put *sarcasm* next to any post that was meant to be that tone since people do not seem to understand I am level headed.

I'm just saying, given how most of your posts here have been very antagonistic and political-related, it wasn't a stretch to assume you were doing your usual thing here. Hell, outside of the throwaway movie reference, your actual opening post is right in line with how you usually approach these things, hence the "serious" responses.

Really? Seems to be a very big stretch since it was an obvious movie reference from the 80s and all that was posted was links, an actual china reference of events going on, and a biden power play joke. Its mainly a what if scenario more than thinking someone would actually attack and nothing in that is remotely confrontational, hell a shit load of my recent posts have been sarcastic in the political threads lately since every one is obviously skewed in one direction.
Fuck, all you had to do was look at the tags to see the nature of the tone but then if people do not adhere to the preconceived notion that only one side is right here they are immediately ostracized.

You keep going on about this, yet you clearly live by the idea that your own rhetoric or "side" is the only right one here. You can't have it both ways.
Besides, what's wrong with anyone thinking that their opinions are right? If they want to do that and can back it up, great.

Fuck I have never said only my opinion is right, what I have done is pointed to actual facts where someone is wrong only to get chastised for telling someone they are stupid yet people are free to call me anything they want.
If its an opinion and they can give a reason then fine but this was just out for discussion and was all done as a fucking joke yet all the rest of you wanted to do was say I think russia is invadin us! Get the guns!
You are all so predictable, I have no side yet even though I choose to stay on the outside of what you believe Im on their side.

If you're able to use "actual facts" to prove your point, there's no need to say someone is stupid on top of it.
For the most part people get set off by you because you repeatedly make broad statements and generalizations about people on the board being stupid or "not living in reality" that are typically backed up only by your opinion and nothing else. Stating your opinion is no big deal; that's all most of us are doing here most of the time...but when it's just your opinion dressed up like it's supposed to be the final say on an issue and that anyone who disagrees with you is an idiot and that in those cases you're not kidding, it's going to rub people the wrong way.

Look, I apologize that we didn't catch you trying to kid around. I'm just saying that if you look back on your posting history it should be pretty obvious why people are so defensive around you when it comes to political discussions (and no, it's not because only one side is right).
