Here's a dumb question: What is the best way to keep track of the threads you post to on this website? I tried subscribing to the threads I post to but that adds up quickly. I also tried clicking on my name and looking at all my posts, but now that I'm up to nearly 50! posts, that gets overwhelming as well. Any better suggestions to keep track of all my posts and responses?

I just use the "new posts" link and read posts that way. Any post you've posted in shows differently than the others.

See the icons to the left? A red folder indicates a thread that I have posted in. I just hit "New Posts" when I first log in, and it shows all threads that have had activity since you last logged in. And you can use the red folder to keep track of threads you've already posted in. BTW... Hold your cursor over the red folder, and it will show you how many posts you have in that thread.

Is there a key somewhere that tells the difference between all the different icons? What the hell is the difference between the red envelope, the green arrow envelope, the caution sign envelope, etc.?

I explained the red one above. I still haven't figured out what the green arrow and caution ones mean.

The arrow and sign don't mean anything. They're just icons people selected when they started their thread. It's just from the list of the post icons you see at the bottom of every reply screen.

And the answer to this thread is easy: on Ambien.

Not those ones. The ones that are on top of the yellow envelopes. I only see them in threads where I haven't posted.

No. I mean the folder icon with a small green arrow or a small red caution sign. They can be seen on the ispy page.

Huh, I never noticed those before. Weird. There are ones with a little chain link over them where the first post has a link in it, so maybe they have something to do with the cotnent of the first post? Like there's a picture or video?

The chain link is for locked threads that you've already read after being locked (you see a padlock, before you click on it, after it's been locked).

The red envelope and the green arrow ones definitely mean you have posted in that thread before but I can't figure out the difference. The red caution sign and the plain envelope mean you haven't posted in there but I can't tell the difference between those either.

I'm not sure if you're right about having posted in the green arrow ones. I just looked at a bunch of the arrow ones, and I have no posts in any of them.

Oh yeah. I didn't realize that that thread was locked. Shit, I don't have any idea.

I think I'm right about the green arrow ones, but the green dot ones I just noticed and they are something totally different.

Damn. You're right. I got confused between the two. The green dot is actually a very tiny dot with an arrow in it.

This is one of the nerdiest conversations in history.

Just trying to pump up my thread so in the 'night of 1000 bumps' 2010 I don't get embarrassed again.
