Meh, I could care less about the "comment".

I'm more concerned with his fan tour. WTF the worlds falling apart, get back to your desk and work! He's out there like he's got a fucking movie coming out next week. It's a little disturbing to me.

Sir, though your thawing from the year 1872 is going to be jarring, I can assure you that we have fantastic tools that make instantaneous communication a simple matter, large data transfer a snap and travel capabilities that allow us to travel across the country in just a few hours!

I read somewhere that Obama sometimes take very lengthy bathroom breaks. AND HE DOESN'T EVEN BRING ANY PAPERWORK IN THERE WITH HIM!:furious:

At least he's not clearing brush...

THAT would be an awful thing to do.

Gov. Sarah Palin responded to remarks made last night by President Obama related to the Special Olympics on “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno": (http://campaignspot.nationalreview.com/post/?q=YTQ2Nzk1NjAzMjdiN2U4YTExZDg4ZTA5YjRmMTYxMTU=)

“I was shocked to learn of the comment made by President Obama about Special Olympics,” Governor Palin said. “This was a degrading remark about our world’s most precious and unique people, coming from the most powerful position in the world.

“These athletes overcome more challenges, discrimination and adversity than most of us ever will. By the way, these athletes can outperform many of us and we should be proud of them. I hope President Obama’s comments do not reflect how he truly feels about the special needs community.”

How does using one of those Flying Machine thingys to go to Burbank and have some softball banter with Jay Leno help get his message to people? Is I my fault that 97% of America is ignorant to what goes on in thier government?

His other stops should include: American Idol, Dancing with the Stars, Living with the Kardashians, and a cameo on CSI: Miami.

Only THEN will his great message reach the true America!

I know a few of my conservative friends are digging that timely pounce by Governor Palin in a big way. Unfortunately, despite her having a special needs child she recently made this decision which make her words ring hollow:

Palin turns down stimulus money to help special needs education funding: (http://www.adn.com/palin/story/729504.html)

The biggest single chunk of money that Palin is turning down is about $170 million for education, including money that would go for programs to help economically disadvantaged and special needs students. Anchorage School Superintendent Carol Comeau said she is "shocked and very disappointed" that Palin would reject the schools money. She said it could be used for job preservation, teacher training, and helping kids who need it.

And at the end of the day, that's why liberals get more flack than conservatives on slip-ups. They are willing to back and properly fund programs to help those who need help, while conservatives generally aren't.

The whole "Obama doesn't work!" thing the right-wing tries to use maddens me after 8 years of a President who'd spend weeks at a time on his fake "ranch" while telling us that we were in the midst of an epic struggle against "evildoers".

Please come up with some new shit, right wing.

You completely missed my point, I never said it wasnt mentioned, what I said was that if it was bush it would be the lead on every channel at the top of every hour: RetardGate '09!!!!
.

Kinda like some fat drug addict having an "America Held Hostage" graphic the entire second term of Clinton?

Who said anything was your fault? The majority of the interview was him laying out some of the policies his administration is going to attempt in the near future that potentially is going to impact most of the population. Again, he's using the medium to try and reach as many people as possible. People are willing to listen when they're curious about what's going to be said, and official addresses and press conferences often don't accomplish that.

No. At the end of the day both sides are like children who wait for one or the other to slip in the slightest to point and laugh.

Its completely not constructive to anything. Its a huge reason the parties should be abolished.

Although I think Obama is a disastor as a president I don't feel the Republicans are much better, so I agree abolishing the parties may not be a bad thing.
I'm in favor of a benevolent dictator running things. Kind of Hitler light.
Too much arguing, talking, opinion.
We need one guy who makes all decisions & our energies are used to accomplish those directives.
The general public is too stupid & misinformed to make decisions for themselves.

I completely disagree. Having a nephew with Downs Syndrome the fact that he choses to make a Special Olympics joke is WAY off base and not acceptible.
I found it offensive.

I guess you're way offended by anything said RonFez and O&A and just listen to NPR. So you never make fat jokes, woman jokes, jokes about guys..jokes about anything other than animals, plants, rocks, veggies...anything non human...cause I'm pretty sure...someone will find what you say about another human being as a joke offensive.

You and I can make such jokes and be considered crass. This comment, while self depricating in nature, is unacceptable from a head of state. He's the one that applied for the job with the standards and pitfalls, not you or I.
