View Full Version : Having a problem with my dryer

The dryer is newer. 1 year or so.

The problem is that I dont think it is drying as well as it should.

It takes FOREVER to dry a full load.

Also in side the drier is really really humid. Sometimes it even collects water on the inside of the door and drips down. and then a whole bunch of lint gets stuck to it as well.

I can feel the pipe on the back (for venting) is getting warm so the air is flowing.

Any suggestions?

You should have leased it. Then you could just bring it to the dealership and get it fixed or replaced.

I know you felt the vent, but you need to get a flashlight and look at it. If it is heating but taking a long time to dry that is a symptom of a blocked vent. Some heat will go out the vent even if it is blocked, but if it is blocked there is a safety thermostat near the vent that will turn the heating element off faster than it should because the blockage is trapping the heat there.

Make sure the igniter is turning on. (gas) Sounds like you are not getting hot air.

I found out that its probably a good idea to vacuum out or snake out your dryer vent tunnel once every 8 or 9 years or when your dryer catches on fire, whichever happens first.

Funny thing was that was going to be my tip for next week. I actually do it once a year w/ a chimmney sweep because we have a real twisty dryer vent. It makes the dryer run alot more efficiently dries clothes faster and prevents fires as you have already learned.

You need to check the lint screen and make sure that the vent pipe is clear thats exactly what it sounds like.

you got to check the vent tube the entire length
and especially where it exits the house

who knows, maybe a squirrel snuck into it

we take ours down every couple of years and clean it out

If it's electric the heating coil is probably f'ed up, it's something u can check and fix yourself look on the net.. I would start tearing that thing apart as it's simpler than one would think to fix a dryer. Unless your name is lleeder then u get sidetracked trying to turn all the lint u find into a mock azzhole to prematurely ejaculate into

I agree with earlier assessments, check the vent pipe for blocks

Definitely clean out the vent. Then go ahead and turn the lint into an asshole and prematurely ejaculate into it.

That shit will burn your house down. Clean your vents whether it's the problem or not. Dryer fires are no joke, gas or electric.

i will have to check it this weekend.

haha

just checked while i was outside. stuck my finger into the exit and all i felt was a big puff ball blocking it.

My exit vent was vertical sticks(for support i assume) and then horizontal slats pointing down. I think the combo of both was making the exit to small. and then in winter the moisture formed making it sticky(the lint)

This weekend i will dremel all the vertical sticks out. cause that me Handy Manny fuckers

Why make a mock asshole when your mom's is readily available? Everyone knows a canadian asshole is the best jizz collector. Just look at your own jizz soaked gaping ass.

I agree, though I clean mine once a year due to volume of laundry and the fact that we have a dog that sheds, that adds to overall lint/dander buildup.

Dam, I sound like Martha Stewart.
