Is There Anything More Boring?

Hola, Oracle! How ya been? It's been awhile but I've got a question for ya - Is there anything in this realm of existence that's more boring than a trade show for one's profession? I was meeting and greeting people at one last night and have to work my company's booth all day today as well.

I've been in this business for over 15 years and it's the exact same fucking show year in and year out. I want to drive nails into my ears and eyes.

Please let me know if there's anything that's even more tedious, monotonous, and dull so I won't feel so bad.

I actually enjoy working trade shows,

get to meet face to face people from my company that are assigned to different regions
and then we wander around to see what our competitors on doing

however to answer you question, I think sitting in the airport for hours on end because of delays or cancellations is the most boring thing there is

I have a tractor with steering controlled by GPS. I turn it around at the end of the field and sit there until I can do it again at the other end. Twelve hours or so of that get to be a real bore.

I love landscaping trade shows. They always have the latest and greatest tools for beating Mexicans without leaving a mark.

Years ago when I worked in travel and tourism I did my 3 year apprenticeship with a bus company. I loved the trade shows... getting out of the office aside from the few tours a year as a tourguide (and school weeks), the trade shows were a welcome break to not only see what the competition had to offer but also other sectors of tourism and make connections I later benefited from.

I love going to trade shows I work with live lighting and sound so usually I get to play with some cool gear and usually get lots of SWAG. I'm missing the USITT convention which was this week :(

the trade show is the only interesting part of the week long national convention. you get to see a lot of cool new gadgets & items that might be a good addition to to your office & you get tons of free stuff too.
