View Full Version : TWIX: Cookie or Candy?

Damn it, this is driving me nuts. You buy it like a candy bar, but it has the baked goodness of a cookie. Anyone have an opinion?

I say it's a fruit.
Yes, there's even room for Alkey on RF.net!
Great. Another thing for me to stay up nights wondering about.

well if anyone saw the episode of sienfeld where george has his twix stolen by the evil auto machanic you would know that twix is a hybrid. it is the only candy bar with oh so delicious cooky crunch, making it the only pure thing in this evil world. thank you god for the wholesome goodness that is twix (the official candy, with the cookie, of toksik). :)

I have always considered it candy. But, according to the local Stop and Shop, it is considered a cookie. The Twix are found in the cookie aisle, not the candy aisle, and, unlike all of the other candy, it is tax-free in Connecticut, like cookies.

I always thought "Twix" was what people with speech impediments called that cereal with that silly rabbit who was always trying to bogart the breakfast.

Where's F Wad when you need him? I seem to recall him resolving a similar quandary regarding the true nature of Razzles (candy or gum).

I would definately call it a cookie.. it is not candy say like M&M's or skittles.. and it almost seems like it should have come from the Kebler Elves. they always cover cookies with chocolate.. just my opinion... it is a cookie...
Give me a cartoon and i am happy....

I say cookie. Usually candy doesn't have any type of cookie in the center, it's just chocolate or caramel or something. Reminds me of Pepperidge Farm cookies....

I refuse to consider it a cookie... I need my cookies round. This is just unnatural. I say it's neither. It's a candy bar, which I don't consider the same as plain old candy. Cookies are Oreos, Chocolate Chip, Oatmeal, etc. Candy is Now and Laters, Jelly Beans, Lollipops. Candy BARS are Snickers, Milky Way, Butterfinger, Kit Kat, Twix. Also, if you're going to oust Twix from the candy bar family, then you also have to remove Kit Kat... it possesses the same cookie crunch inside. I don't know if I'm comfortable with this.

It's a candy bar.
The caramel is found within other candy bars such as Caramello...
and the cookie crunch a revoloutionizing part of the candy bar... so it could be considered a cookie, but it is a candy bar.. besides.. most cookies are round.. if they aren't.. they're weird.
