you've got a great point. in any workplace a person has to take some responsibility for what they say. i worked with someone who used the phrase 'jew him down [on the tab]'. no one, in his whole life, ever told him that was "offensive" to society at large (now you could have a debate that hypothetically words shouldn't be this or that, but there is an ideal world which we may strive for and also a real world that we have to navigate). so the corrective action was to educate him on this statement. he felt that since he didn't mean anything bad, and since he was part jewish, it was excusable. of course that isn't the case. i feel the difference with fez is that he is "depressed", i.e. not responding the way most would / not responding how a healthy person would.

basically what happened with jay was he realized he'd need a different set of rules with fez than he (jay) used for anyone else. now which is preferable: everyone learning - sometimes painfully - that fez (or any depressive) has his own, sometimes very, different set of rules, or fez growing towards the center 'bell curve' of mindset / attitude that will allow him to cope with new and different people (and himself) better.

Its definately uncalled for. When fez is good he's still hilarious, but Jay Jay call ins leading to nothing positive, other no ones who harass him via phone, .... just uncalled for. I dont know hearing fez cry is like hearing my mother sob over her shitty job, its unproductive and tiring, and usually ends up with me in my room with a littlebit of scotch just a little bit.
