The navy may produce something besides being the inspiration for a crappy disco song. (http://www.breitbart.com/article.php?id=CNG.a67cf72fe27770f9ec992da18169937 d.a1&show_article=1)
If this ends up working then it would solve the worlds energy issues.

Amazing, for such fans of sarcastic comedy you would think people would get both references towards the sarcasm, fuck it was laid on thick.
Oh well you just attacked a board member over something benign, Im sure you will get a vacation...........probably not, its not like you bashed one of the inner circle or mod types.....
Either way it was fucking sarcasm, take the rod out of your ass and marvel at a discovery that would bring civilization to most of the world if it is true.

Unfortunately, the article seems to take a skeptical view of the laboratory's claims:
Paul Padley, a physicist at Rice University who reviewed Mosier-Boss's published work, said the study did not provide a plausible explanation of how cold fusion could take place in the conditions described.
"It fails to provide a theoretical rationale to explain how fusion could occur at room temperatures. And in its analysis, the research paper fails to exclude other sources for the production of neutrons," he told the Houston Chronicle.
"The whole point of fusion is, you?re bringing things of like charge together. As we all know, like things repel, and you have to overcome that repulsion somehow."

Yeah I read that, its another scientist who was burned or pissed about fleishmann and pons from the late 80s.
Either way if they can create an easier way for power or energy to travel it could yank quite a few places out of the dark ages they are living in, but people like to focus on a sarcastic title because I sound like a greedy capitalist maaaaaaaaaaan.
Face it people, if they cant make money off of it then all of the great discoveries would have never been researched so get over it.

It would rule if they could pull this off-I would love having my own power generator in my house to light it and heat it.

You can sail the seven seas.
Wow a little shocked that more wouldnt want to discuss this since if they could pull this off it would be the biggest discovery in the modern world, I hope its just not all the hey we have a new invention talk by scientists, only to find out they were talking about the segway.

Well, being an Army vet I usually ignore these things coming out of the Navy labs and the silly sailors making crazy claims like this.
My motto is:
If it didn't get built at the Aberdeen Proving Grounds, it ain't worth talking about.

Well yeah I could see that but reading further it seems that its from research labs and takes the cold fusion a step further to extract energy out of a small amount of resistance, like I said if this proves to be true it would be amazing and yank everyone into the 20th century.
