I am not at all squeamish about death, but to this day I refuse to go to a wake/viewing. They are just too creepy/degrading, and they don't ever really seem to do anything besides exacerbate the pain and sorrow of the mourning.

I doubt I'll be doing anything at all with them. I'm hoping my family has me cremated and tossed into a creek near here.

in my death education class we watched some news story on some old guy who had his wife cremated & the ashes were placed into dissolvable capsules that he would take every morning with breakfast so she'd always be with him.

Fortunately, my religious beliefs coincide with my personal wishes. I will be cremated and put in an urn. I had this conversation with my wife the other day. She said she'd want to be cremated and buried next to her grandmother in Japan, until I die then she'd like to be bought here and for the two of us to have a plot together.

If I die first she will keep my urn until she dies, then we'll be buried together.
