Is he the guy who passed out and everyone wrote on? Sorry, looked closer. I didn't see the writing in the dark pictures at 1st.
The cupcake was a nice touch. It would have been funnier if it was a Ronnie B from Molly's.

They're in reverse order. The bottom pic is when we found he was sleeping, the top pic has the writing and the cupcake on the shoulder.

I wasn't at the party, and I don't know what happened, but if Circus just simply passed out and people took it upon themselves to write on him, you should be ashamed of yourselves.
If Circus was acting like a jerk/creep - which I doubt because he was perfectly fine the last time I saw him at Jeff's birthday back in December - then I could see "revenge".
I'm not trying to be angry typing guy, but this is the kind of garbage you do in college. We're supposed to be more mature than that.
For all you know/knew, Circus may have had a job interview today. Or maybe even an event on Sunday.
Even I made a joke about it before, and I feel bad about it.
If this is the kind of humor that goes on at parties from this point forward, maybe we should call this place RFbag.

And yes, I'm pretty ticked off about it, and not "false outrage". This is the kind of thing that would make people not want to come to events.
After the B.A. bash in 2007, I was at Bar 9 afterwards. I zoned out and closed my eyes because it had been a long day. I felt someone in my personal space and when I opened my eyes, I saw someone holding a marker right by my face (won't say who because I'm not going to start stuff)
But seriously... c'mon.

Cruel Circus is such a great guy. I hate that this happened to him!!! The don't fall asleep at a party because you'll get drawn on is really immature. I know we're all crazy but this is really frat pranks type stuff. I would never do this after i turned 18.

Doesn't matter. These parties, you're supposed to be an environment where you can consider most people to be "cool" and you don't have to be looking over your shoulder. One of the biggest themes of R&F is being inclusive.
I wouldn't want to be looking over my shoulder, wondering if someone who is smiling and joking with me is the same person who was writing "carbonite" on my forehead.
Now I kind of regret not being there, because I would have broken up that crap right quick. What are you gonna do? Call me a jerk? BOO HOO HOO.

well I get that this is upsetting you, possibly even more than it upsets CC.
He already commented on the situation in the party thread and here and if it upset him nearly as much as it does you then he probably would have had the thread deleted already.

Less of a defense of Circus and more of the admonishment who did it in the first place.
Threads like this (and getting airtime from Ron) just enables and encourages people more.

I'm willing to take my lumps, and as Katja said, I'll get over it.
I'm not going to ask for the thread to be deleted, that ship has sailed, though of course I would have preferred a little more discretion. What I do not understand is that people here think the "writers" deserve a level of anonymity that I do not. If you're willing to do that, you should be able to stand by it, and I really don't get why anyone feels like "protecting" them.
My thanks to Swissie for coming to my rescue.

Randy will be the first to admit he wrote RW on Jim's (Cruel Circus) face
he did it only because he knows him and hangs out with him at events, more of friends razzing friends
the other people thought it was "cool" and went out of hand with the I love penis and carbonite.com (which was clever i admit)
I personally wanted to eat the cupcake that was balancing on his shoulder

Exactly what I was thinking. Usually when this happens, it's friends doing it to friends, so it's something we all laugh about later, even though it's immature.
If the people who did this stay anonymous, then it's a malicious intent and just scummy move.

I probably wouldnt have wrote on him, just because Im too lazy to do it. But I wouldve laughed, especially at the carbonite.com one.

So if an RF girl got trashed and fell asleep, or passed out and some of the guys decided that it would be funny to pose with her making lewd or suggestive poses that would be OK? Everyone else on the board (and people who weren't there) would also have the right to look at the pictures and laugh at her and make whatever comments they want? Yes, i understand it was poor decision making on his part for drinking so much but 2 wrongs don't make a right and instead of someone trying to make sure he's ok they're writing on his face with a marker? Awesome.
i don't think so.
I know that as a poster i may be abrasive and bust chops but to take advantage of someone physically (and yes, that is what whoever wrote on him did) is appalling.
There is also a level of trust and safety that is associated with the RF events, having been on this board since i was 16 and knowing a lot of the posters for a long time ( I just turned 24) this makes me feel somewhat uncomfortable at the caliber of maturity that is now in attendance during these nights out.
Will that prevent me from eventually coming out? No, but it will make me think twice about some of the people i may be around and do you really want to be the person that has others questioning your motives or judgment as an adult? Probably not.

Some people on the board keep it a hobby separate from their actual friends, in saying that there have been and still are tons of people that go to events alone.
People that maybe don't post a lot and who don't know anyone from the board, have someone to associate with or rely on to make things a smooth transition.
I never implied that anyone would be "scared" to go to another event but how would you know that someone who doesn't post but loves the show and wanted to attend an event isn't thinking twice about it now?

I don't want to understate the personal responsibility that each of us has when out in public. If you get yourself that drunk, you have decided to put yourself in jeopardy. To his credit, Cruel Circus hasn't blamed others for what happened. Sure he's not tickled pink by it, but he said he'd just move on.
But it does seem that the old days of everyone kinda looking out for each other at these events has long passed. That's sad to see for show friends and the people that Ron and Fez enjoy having at their events.

But seriously... c'mon.
Exactly. Laugh, take pictures, pose next to him, hell, even do something that easily washes off.
Using a sharpie on someone is 100% uncalled for.
dunno if anyone pointed this out yet, cuz its a long thread and i havent read it yet, but dude...come on....it washed off with a bar napkin and a little water in about 15 seconds.
can we stop acting like someone tatooed the guy or gave him a nose ring?

Exactly what I was thinking. Usually when this happens, it's friends doing it to friends, so it's something we all laugh about later, even though it's immature.
If the people who did this stay anonymous, then it's a malicious intent and just scummy move.
Although I gotta ask - who brings markers with them to a bar party?

But hey, obviously one of the owners of this site thinks it's OK. He's the one who started the thread, so what do I know.
Warped sense of morality around here anymore.

if someone gets too drunk and makes a fool of themself and dances on tables with a lampshade on their head....do we protect the innocent then too and not post pics?
never mind that they would be in the 1930s and just plain hack. but to me, its the same thing, so we should probably not tell stories revealing the names of the person who got soooo drunk that they....(fill in blank with random make an ass out of yourself behavior). especially if they dont remember that they behaved stupidly while drunk.

Well folks, I'm here to come clean.
Cruel Circus, to you personally, I apologize. I took part in the markering. I was not the only one, nor was I the first one, but I did take part. I think it's fairly obvious that drunkenness leads to bad judgement. You're a good guy and you've always been nothing but cool to me, and I took part in a "it was a funny idea at the time" bad move. I'm really sorry.
As far as for the other people who are so appalled. Get over it. It was a harmless prank and it didn't happen to you. You can put your big worries of your safety at events to rest. The bad marker man won't getcha.
And CC, please don't stop coming to stuff, you're a fun guy and I'd hate to not see ya. I owe you an apology in person. And for that matter, you're drinking on my dime next time.

Awesome..
As long as there was no nudity or basic sexual assault (fondling, undressing) then yea that would be ok actually. But the line with a chick is different. If I saw 2 guys arguing and one starts beating up the other one, Im not getting involved. But if a guy and girl are arguing and the guy starts beating up the girl, then I step in. I guess its all up to your definition of "danger".
See Im not sure where any level of safety was violated here. He wasnt physically harmed at all. Honestly I can see why some people might not find it funny, but I dont understand where anyone can actually attack the guys that did this or demand an apology. Too me thats just ridiculous.
And while I dont see how this can scare you from coming to other events, I can see why it might scare you to make sure you pace yourself and mind how much youre drinking. If it does, good. As a 24 year old woman you should be doing that anyway. Anyone that feels they should be able to drink themselves out of conciousness at a public bar and expect the same courtesies that he would get if he were in their own home is just naive and foolish.

I agree. Yes it was fucked up that it was happening, but it wasnt overly cruel either. Just people goofing around. Even if it was juvenile.
I think a some people, yet not all, are here jumping on this bandwagon because they heard Ron say it on the radio and have to be like "Yeah, what Ron says..." To be honest, I get along with Cruel Circus, and I like the guy but he is lucky that the worst thing that happened was getting drawn on. They could have of thrown him out for passing out, and he could have of wandered the street and maybe gotten hurt tripping and falling or even being taken advantage of by the cabbie.
At least he was near people that knew him. And it wasnt as harmful as some people are making it out to seem. Especially a lot of people that just weren't there.

i would like to think that you would do the same for someone else. it wasn't being morally superior, i just hated seeing people take advantage of someone who had obviously misjudged his tolerance. yes i agree that you should know your limits, and it was not the best idea to let your guard down around strangers....but i would not sit there and not do something.
if i'm being "franklyn" then i'm totally fine with that. id rather be known for doing something nice for someone i don't know, then for acting the way some people chose to.
