So Fez indicated on the show today that he was looking into getting a new computer but got kind of overwhelmed by all of the choices. There are a lot of computer-savvy people on this board who might be able to give Fez good advice on what to look for in a computer. If you can find a link to a model that is perfect for Fez, even better. It sounds like Fez mostly uses a computer to seuf the internet and read e-mail, so he probably doesn't need a really souped-up machine. What'cha got?

Something midrange would be great for Fez. Just add a monitor to this setup and he's running strong for about 700.00 (I figure about 200.00 for a good size monitor)

get a 15" if you go with a mac lappy.

Those 17"-ers have non-removable batteries which is retarded. Fuck sending a computer into apple just to get the battery replaced.

Mac's are ok, but im pretty sure he's used to PC. I would most definetly suggest a Dell, they are real cheap, and they are a mix between a PC and a Mac.

Let me put it this way, I know what my dad makes, and I abstractly guess what Fez makes. My dad just bought a new computer, so by my estimates, Fez could buy a computer that could make NASA nervous at this point. Give the man some options, show him the convenience he could be dealing with!

i'd definitely go with a laptop. even if it never leaves his house, it's much more convenient than a desktop. instead of having a desk and an uncomfortable chair to sit in, he can just plop it on the couch next to him and use it as he watches tv, like i do.

whatever he gets, he absolutely has to get rid of the dial-up and go to high speed! i think he'd be more likely to get internet-savvy if it didn't take an hour to load a webpage.

He could get a mid-priced HP Laptop with a wireless modem and wireless printer for pretty cheap. But, he has to get rid of dial-up. That's just ridiculous. Especially since he's on here constantly.

I heard him talk about a virus the other day... I would recommend an iBook... more than enough for basic office tasks and internet use... almost impossible to get a virus
