You have to pick your battles with New Brunswick & Princeton because of the college crowd.

Senior Week for Rutgers is usually a decent time to go somewhere in New Brunswick. If Commencement is on 5/21 this year, Senior Week starts around 5/14.

As for Princeton, I don't know it too well, but I've been to Triumph Brewery and liked it a lot.
