It's fucking annoying. We are on the cusp of massive scientific advances that may just eliminate death.
Imagine that? People 500 years later looking back on poor fucking slobs like me who were just martyrs to the next stage of human evolution, an ageless era of wisdom.
Motherfuckers.
We are slowly engineering ourselves as gods and with more and more time on earth to think and figure things out, we'll only get progressively smarter and wiser until death itself is an antiquity.
Then, just like that, the universe is ours forever and there will be an end to the pettiness and desperation that has plagued us since the dawn of man.
It's the next stage of humanity, and we just barely missed the fucking mark, relative to how long humans have existed.
ib some retard brings up overpopulation, meteors, or 2012, or being too much of a faggot to lust after eternal life.

I bet the people who suffered from the Plague thought the same thing.
Living forever would get boring pretty fast. The average young adult wants nothing to do with his or her mentally diminished, wrinkly grandparents. Then... there is the generational gap (his life's a movie).
I think I would go mad. Being 100 years old, seeing really attractive young adult women and being completely unable to close the deal... that would suck. I mean, when I watch movies or TV shows from the beginning of moving pictures to the 90s, the average featured woman is exponentially more attractive than those from previous decades. If I am 200 years old, I can only imagine the average woman is going to be that much more attractive... then I would still want to be born 500 years later...

maybe they'll become so advanced that they figure out how to re-animate people who died within the last 500 years and you get brought back to life.
then you just got a long, sweet nap and the possibility of experiencing whatever afterlife there actually was.
although, it would be a bummer if waking up was the worst thing ever. i suppose you could always just blow your brains out all over again. then there's the possibility of hell....
it's a toughie.

If you can re-animate the dead from the pool of people who died in the past 500 years, I think we have enough evidence to disprove the existence of heaven and hell.

sure it would be great to live to see my kid's children and grandchildren grow up but I still look forward to dying some day... I mean it's gotta be great to finally find rest....
Maybe I'll feel differently about this in the evening, but after forcing myself to get up and go to work once again I just don't feel like doing this for 500 more years... or eternity

It could be worse. You could have been born as a woman in China or some Muslim country, or any other country before 1900.

I think what you're saying here is that (I'm ignoring 2012) overpopulation and meteors is an excuse to be scared of eternal life?
If we're going to make it 500 years, the world's best has to come together to work on preventing overpopulation, meteors, solar storms, water shortage and energy depletion.
Right now we're not looking to good as a species.
500 years from now could very well be Bartertown.
