i dont know if its just me but i think old school shake back and forth on the stove in that prepacked little pan popcorn tastes so much better then microwave popcorn. could it be the hands on tactile experipence? does it create pleasing memories of a childhood lost?
old school or nuked?

Old school all the way.
The microwave oven is DEATH to anything resembling flavor.

I used to prefer the old school popcorn maker. Not the ridiculous air poppers, I liked the oil poppers. All the oil = flavor. Pour on the salt, and it was perfect. But now I completely lost my taste for popcorn and don't eat it at all.

Jiffy pop, no doubt.
Although when I make popcorn at home, I go real old school and use a pot and oil.

Train station popcorn. Though I wait until I get home to eat it, I think it's rude to eat in front of everybody on the train.

You call that old school? I remember when my grandmother would pour some oil in a pot, heat it up and pour in the corn kernels- I can still hear them pop!!!

I never cared much for Jiffy pop....it was way too easy to burn and I HATE burnt popcorn. Blech
