Starts tomorrow morning. I guess Tiger is fully back after last weekend and like all tournaments he is the prohibitive favorite going in.

Really I just wanted people to see this:

<object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/6GKSJOSsExE&color1=0xb1b1b1&color2=0xcfcfcf&hl=en&feature=player_embedded&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/6GKSJOSsExE&color1=0xb1b1b1&color2=0xcfcfcf&hl=en&feature=player_embedded&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>

Little hard to see at the beginning but that's insane.

Official site for the Masters. This would have the most up to date leaderboard.
Also, because ESPN is Satan's company, the TV coverage doesnt start until 4PM despite the last group teeing off at 2pm, on that site you can watch live Amen Corner starting whenever the first group gets there (around 10:45 Am) and then live coverage of nos 15 and 16 from when the first group gets there (around 11:30).

I actually love watching online that way even during the TV coverage because you get to see every single guy play a couple holes while the TV follows the main guys

14113 RETIEF GOOSEN +1900

14116 LEE WESTWOOD +4500
14117 HENRIK STENSON +3000
14118 ADAM SCOTT +7500 Very up and down but when up, can win a major. Great line to play small
14119 JIM FURYK +6000
14120 ROBERT KARLSSON +4000
14121 MIKE WEIR +6850 Previous winner, but course might have gotten a little long for him. Not a terrible play here
14122 STEWART CINK +7350 Solid play here.
14123 ZACH JOHNSON +3950
14124 K.J CHOI +8050 This line is high cause Choi has had an awful start but has shown the ability to play very well in the masters. Great line here
14125 ANDRES ROMERO +8400
14126 KENNY PERRY +6650
14127 STEVE STRICKER +8400 see Cink
14128 TREVOR IMMELMAN +8400
14129 HUNTER MAHAN +7050 Good year goin. Could sneak into contention
14130 IAN POULTER +8750
14131 ANGEL CABRERA +9750 He has won big tournies before and usually shows up decent in majors. Very good line.
14132 STUART APPLEBY +8600 been playin better lately. Could be the first Aussie to win the Masters. Decent play
14133 TIM CLARK +9600
14134 RORY SABBATINI +10500 Dont be fooled by the high pay out. Sabbatini is a bitch and would fold if he was in contention Sunday. DONT PLAY HERE
14135 AARON BADDELEY +11000
14136 SEAN O`HAIR +6000
14137 BOO WEEKLEY +10500
14138 BRANDT SNEDEKER +9900
14139 ROBERT ALLENBY +9050
14140 ROSS FISHER +11000
14141 JUSTIN ROSE +5500
14142 THE FIELD (ANY OTHER PLAYER) +650 actually not a terrible play. I can think of 5 guys not on this list who have the game to win it.

So Tiger goes off at 2 to 1 followed by the field at 6.5 to 1 and Phil has the second best odds for any player.

I added in a few pointers for any degenerates like me and savage who might want to bet this. My recent run of dominance in the Cougarjake golf pool should tell you all you need to know about this advice. Shit I might be the only person who watched some of every day of the Shell Houston Open last week.

he ( paddy h) approached the putt
did a few practice swings
moved closer to do putt and lined up his putter

it got windy so he backed off
he went back to putt and got real windy again and it blew the ball back a few feet

he never touched it but they said since he addressed the ball and put the club down to start the putt it didnt matter that he backed away and wind then blew it

still gave him the penalty

ok i figured it out. here is what happened, and it was a putt, not a swing, that changes the rule:
6:19 p.m. ET: After much consternation and debate, it was ruled that Padraig Harrington had indeed grounded his club before stepping away and watching the wind move his ball. He was assessed a penalty, then made the putt for a par to remain at 3-under.

You cant ground your club (meaning touch the ground) on the green behind the ball without playing the ball. If it touched the ground, no matter why the ball moves, it counts as a shot.

The theory of it is so that guys dont push the green down a bit behind the ball, making it easier to make contact. Mostly that would apply if your about to putt down hill, so the green behind the ball raises up.

On the fairway or in the rough, it would not have been a penalty.

yea the penalty was cause he put his putter down behind the ball. Doing that basically means you are ready to putt. if you dont putt and the ball moves, thats your fault. Dont get up and put the club down

its not that he pulled back and it moved. if he had never touched the ground, it would be no penalty

still at 4 and currently behind the leader a -11

might be too tough but if anyone could do it'd be tiger

he'd have to shoot a 63 just to even think of smelling the front of the pack

then everyone in front of him has to shoot par or over par

I dont agree. he made a 6 shot swing at Bay Hill without needing a playoff and he didnt go super low.

I have a feeling that the winner of this tourney is at BEST -10, most likely single digits. If Tiger can somehow sneak out a 67 and get to -9 I think he has a good shot. Even when immelman won last year he shot 75 on sunday. Sunday at the Masters is a whole different beast

thats true but like i said the guys in front have to shoot par or worse

cause right now cabrera and perry are at -11 which means for tiger to catch them they have to shoot par to stay at -11 or go 2 over to reach the -9 you said

impossible no but if they shoot 2 under or better i dont see how tiger can match that unless he birdies every hole and shoots -18 for the day

well if they go 2 under they would be -13. So -9 would be what would catch them. Not -18.

And yea you are right. But go look at how many 3rd round leaders break par on sunday. Then look at who is up there. Its definately not a stretch to assume those guys will not break par. Like I said, even the guy who won last year shot a 75 on sunday

Nice win for Cabrera, you have to love the guys attitude out there - at one point when Perry hit the shot that should have been his crowning moment on 16, Cabrera went up to him gave him a thumbs up and said nice job, I thought that was cool.
Perry totally let the moment get to him. No bogeys for 22 straight holes and only 4 all week going into 17. I feel horrible for him, this more than likely was his last shot.
Curious there are no comments on the absolute luck that Cabrera was blessed with on the first playoff. On his second shot he was aiming right, way right, out of the woods then hits a tree and gets the bounce of a lifetime. Without that, Perry wins it with a par on the first playoff.
The show put on by Tiger and Phil for the first 16 holes was amazing. The meltdown by both on 17 and 18 was just as amazing.

I did miss 12, but I think 15 was his bigger mistake. He eagles that hole and ties for the lead at -11, and I think Perry and Cabrerra start folding earlier.

I know Tiger had a shot too, but Phil was playing incredibly up until 12. Whereas Tiger still was shaking off some rust.

that was just a push on 15 and 17 for phil. 12 and 13 were just stupid ideas. Tiger hit an 8 iron into 12 and phil said to his caddie he was gonna hit a MORE than full 9 iron, then didnt even hit it full and put it in the water with no question. Then on 13, from about 185 coming into a par 5 second shot, he bailed it way long and left cause he was too afraid of the water

I hate to say it, but Snoogans is right. 12 and 13 were the mistakes by Phil. If he pars 12 and birdies 13, thats a 3 stroke difference and 15 isn't the must for eagle it became.

Sure...but to expect eagle is pretty crazy. Its like saying that Phil "fucked up" on 15 by only making birdie.

Like you and I talked about yesterday, he should've played safe on 12 and gotten aggressive on 13. That was the tournament for him.

yea and he didnt play aggressive on 13. He still birdied it though. We were gettin on him for not even giving eagle a chance.

And before 15 no, but after phil put it 4 feet away, Phil did fuck up by only making birdie on 15

His putt for eagle was four feet away. To expect him to get an eagle would be nuts if it wasnt' for that fact. I think a missed putt like that is a fuck-up.

All the "Phil choked" talk is absurd. He shoots out of his mind the front nine; sure he left some chances on the table, but to say he choked because he didn't shoot a 62 or 63 on the final day of the Masters when he's playing with Tiger and 7 back is crazy.
Sadly, the real choke was Perry. He mentioned it took him 3 years to get over losing the PGA in a playoff back in 96, I would imagine this stings a little more.

It's so great you all are here discussing a game you love. Does Ron like golf? I was at Augusta and saw a guy that looked just like Ron. I didn't go up to him and ask if it was him though. Haha

Somehow I doubt it.
