She's been my best friend since kindergarten. That's 37 years.

I so hate to hear her cry. It breaks my heart, but I know it's part of the process.

I just so hope I was a comfort to her. Whenever I didn't know what to say, I just hugged her and let her cry.

I went to the funeral service. She said a few word. Me and our other friends got pretty weepy. But I lost it after they "incensed" the casket and spread the holy water. The funeral home "muscle" were moving her casket out of the church and it just hit me: "Alice's mom is going to the cemetary! She's going to be all by herself when we leave! Oh my God! Alice doesn't have a mom anymore!" So, I cried. Then I felt a hand on my shoulder. It was Alice. She is SO amazing!!!

losing a mom is always better then losing a child. she had a full life and now it is time to thinkabout all the joy she brought to the world. :)

I'm sorry to hear that.

In the last 3 weeks i have known/have friends & coworkers who have had loved ones pass away.

My cousin Johanna passed last week after battling cervical cancer for the last 4 or so years. It sucks, she was only 26 and had her whole life ahead of her, now her husband is widowed and my family is pretty destroyed from it.

Anyway, im sorry for your friend's loss but on a positive note, she lived a long life and her daughter had most of her life with her, to know her and grow older with her.

Its going the be really tough for your friend right now, but it's also going to be really hard six months from now when a lot of the sympathy dries up and she's still coping with the loss. Sometimes that's when you need a friend the most.

Sometimes that's when you need a friend the most.

I'm always there for her. That's without exception.

She actually doesn't want sympathy; she just wants to get on with it. I told her one day rolls into another, days turn to weeks, weeks turn to months, months turn to years. You never forget them. You never stop loving them. You just sort of get used to them not being there.

my father just passed away last Thursday...I feel your friend's pain. Losing a parent is the worst. The funeral is Tuesday and I'm lucky I have three great brothers to help me through it.

I'm sorry to hear about this Fuzzy-P. You've got a good friend, there, though.
