Do you really want to go?
From what I have been reading, all of the hotels are 3rd rate at best. They offer very few amenities. Even things like toilet paper and Coke are not readily available. I am far too fancy a man to put up with sub-par accomodations.
The infrastructure is dog shit, and safety concerns are aplenty.
Is it all worth a cigar and a 20 dollar hooker to you?

Cuba has long welcomed U.S. tourists with few questions asked and officials say they have taken no special precautions to prepare for more Americans. Deputy Tourism Minister Maria Elena Lopez said Cuba understands that aspects of its tourism industry need to improve. She singled out beach hotels overdue for renovations and a lack of golf courses: a 9-hole course in Havana and Varadero's 18-hole club are the only ones on the island.

But instead of the beach or the links, many U.S. tourists will hit Havana for its classic if crumbling architecture and streets choked with 1950s American behemoths.

Americans "are all going to want to go to El Floridita and La Bodeguita del Medio at the same time and there won't be space," Kavulich said, referring to two ever-crowded watering holes made famous by writer Ernest Hemingway.

Whitley said the first wave of Americans could arrive by cruise ship and visit Havana only for a few hours, thus alleviating strains on hotels, restaurants and already hard-to-find taxis and rental cars.

"There's going to be such a desire to see the country that people won't care if they are in a five-star hotel," he said.

See? Obama really is the worst president ever! Cuba is communist! So isn't Obama! That's why he's allowing this! They could be harboring terrorists! Osama could be there! We should preemptively invade them just because!

I've never understood why we don't just storm the beaches, steal their cigars and women, and claim Cuba as the 51st state.

It's a win-win.

After showing us your vacation photo, your question should be: does Cuba want Hottub to visit?

Answer: HELL NO.

Not sure where to go with this one, since unlike most of you I actually have a point of reference on Cuba.

The accommodations are NOT second class. They are fantastic. The resorts are clean and modern, and the people are wonderful.

The best part of Cuba is it is an american free zone. Nice, quiet place with no "ugly americans" around to demand better service and complain that the food is not as good as it is back in Des Moines or whatever shit place they hail from.

ANd the comments about developing it as soon as the ban is lifted is exactly hy they shouldnt - just t keep the american developers out and to keep the country from becoming another Disneyland.

I've heard the same from a friend who visited there illegally.
They have some fantastic music there as well.

Our policy has been wrong-headed for decades.
Had we opened trade with themlong ago, a tidal wve of VCRs, Levis and Big Macs would've swept the regime away long ago.

"The hotels here are bigger and swankier than any of the rub joints in Vegas."

It's about time this happened. Shut down Radio Marti, infuse the Cuban economy with American tourists and business and open an embassy in Havana. It'll be like China or Vietnam in 15 years.
