Once what I wanted to say was already being covered by someone on hold, and I understand that.

Once I got on hold but someone said almost exactly what I was going to say so I hung up. Not sure if it was bad screening or the guy changed what he was going to say as he was on hold, but that's no big deal either.

First off phone screening is not easy. The phone screeners job, in essence, is to judge whats good enough to put up to get on air. Ron decides what he wants on air. It might have been the interns first time phonescreening, you have 8 lines ringing at the same time and you have to do shit fast and keep shit on topic and relevant, the looks you get when a shit call goes up is a real confidence killer.

When the screener puts you on hold, you can hear the show and what is being discussed. When Ron goes to your call, you can hear a "woosh" sound that indicates that you are on the air.

You hear the show on hold.

Right before you are picked up, there is a loud static noise you hear and you are suddenly on the air minus any delay from the phone to the air.

While on with them you can't always hear everything clearly so thats why some conversations are halting or odd.

If you just sit there listening to them answer or respond, Ron will probably let your line go, espeically if it's a busy discussion. Sometimes you get to say "Goodbye or SEE YUH" before he hangs up but most times you just kinda fade into the background again.
