In the spirit of the best hitter thread...

What is your favorite baseball moment you saw in person at the stadium?

Mine was the Bartman game in 2003...terrible moment in history.

I live out in hayseedville so I've never seen anything memorable in the dozen or so MLB games I've been to, but I've seen Grady Sizemore, Ryan Howard, Carlos Delgado, and Matt Garza play in the minors. The best experience was watching the Batavia Muckdogs (Cardinals Single-A) win the 2008 NY-Penn League Championship. Minor League ball is the best at the park baseball experience by far.

Couple years ago Big Papi hit a game winning Grandslam in the bottom 8th. That ruled.

Billy Hatcher stealing home.

Also, unassisted triple play by John Valentin.

Last year, September 25th. In the last week of the season Ryan Braun hits a grand slam with 2 out in the 10th to give Milwaukee the 5-1 win over Pittsburgh and keep them in the playoff chase.

Just last yer, when I had tickets to the home game when the Cubs clinched the division. Yeah, the end result sucked ass, but at that moment it was just amazing to be there when they finally clinched the division two years in a row.

I love baseball, especially live. Most memorable major league experience was seeing Marc McGuire hit a home run off Randy Johnson and the ball hitting the back wall of the old Kingdome in Seattle.

Best memories are from attending spring training in both Florida and Arizona. Seeing Tony Guinn giving a hitting seminar to a group of minor leaguers, watching Randy Johnson pitch 5 innings on a practice field no bigger than a neighborhood park. Actually getting to chat with Tommy Lasorda and Manny Mota at the old Dogertown in Vero Beach.

Great stuff!

I've never seen anything spectacular, but I did see Hrbek blast one that got stuck in between the two layers of the dome.

That and I have seen Kirby rob quite a few home runs. That was always cool.

Watching Mitch Williams knock in the game winning run at 4 in the morning in 1993.

2 Years ago losing to the Mets the entire game just to have Pat Burrell come up and hit a home run that won the Phillies the game and watching all the Mets fans get completely abused on the way out.

Dont even remember the game but sneaking all the way down to the box seats at the Vet, not realizing we had snuck into the the seats right behind Commissioner Fay Vincent....and telling him to mind his business when he asked us if we had tickets for those seats.

I've never been to a game where anything monumental happened, but I did see Billy Wagner throw 100mph when he was still closing for the Phillies.

I also was sitting right behind the dugout when Thome was on the Phils and he threw the little kid in front of me 3 balls over the course of the game.

He threw us balls when we saw the Phillies play at Fenway. Very cool. He also let us get a picture of him and Geoff Geary giving us the finger

I was also at Game 6 of the 1986 world series. My brother and I are Yankees fans, but my dad got some world series tix from a contractor he did work with (contractor had a wedding), so we all went.

Good game. Dad wanted to leave after Hendu's HR, I think.

I've been to 100s of games and always seemed to be at the game before or after the big event I was at the day before both Yankees perfect games. Missed the 2 WS games with HRs off Kim vs Arizona.
Finally hit the lottery with Boone game

Game 5 2000 NLCS. My brother and I just sat there for a half hour after the game saying "I can't believe we're in the World Series"

Game 3 1999 NLDS Day before Pratt's homerun. Had a football game the next day, listened on headphones between series, blew out my knee in the 3rd quarter and got to listen to the finish on the way to the hospital. When he hit it, I was so happy.

Game 1 2006 NLCS I thought there was no way they weren't going to win that series. I was wrong.

And most recently, 1st win in Citi Field history!

Also the O&A celebrity softball games. Saw a ton of breasts.

I never really seen anything awesome or really memorable.

So far, the best game I've witnessed live was the Yankees vs. Mariners in 2007 when they were both in the Wild Card chase. It was the game A-Rod hit two HR's in one inning, and the Yankees scored a ton of runs. I thought that was awesome best inning I ever saw at that time.

I was there when Wade Boggs hit a HR for his 3000th hit, game seven of the ALCS last year and Mike Scott's no-hitter for the Astros to clinch the division in '86.

The term 'epic walk' is seldom used, but it's the only time I've ever seen a standing O for a walk.

Sabathia would then walk Rollins on four pitches, give up a grand slam to Vic, which was basically the end of the Brewers and the DS last year.

Winning the Little League World Series in my town when I was 11 years old.

As far as attending a professional game, I've never been to a World Series game live but I've seen a lot of dramatic moments. I can't really pinpoint a specific one.

Why does a baseball pitcher start on a mound higher than the batters box? Fast pitch softball pitchers start on a level plane from the batter. Why does a baseball pitcher have to be higher?

I have three pretty great moments:

Bench-clearing brawl between the White Sox v. Detroit Tigers in 2000. Absolutely great time, great game.

Softbank Hawks v. Lotte Chiba Marines summer 2008. The Hawks' starter accidentally chucked Lotte's foreign slugger, Julio Zuleta. Julio gets boiling angry and just attacks him with a clothesline and a bunch of punches. The fans went mad because Zuleta was a former member of the Hawks and was kind of notorious for attacking pitchers for even a marginally suspicious inside pitch.

Here is an example of Zuleta attacking a Japanese pitcher:

<object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/n0V4mE51bhs&hl=en&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/n0V4mE51bhs&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>

The last one. A relative of mine streaked at a White Sox v. Yankees game in the late 90s. The event was made even funnier because the guy sitting next to him heard him explain his plan. The guy said, "If you do it, I'll give you 300 dollars right now." As he was arrested and taken away, the guy threw me the 300 dollars to give to him after we picked him up from the police station. Watching the game on tape later, the announcers mention the event and how much trouble he was going to get into... he spent a night in holding with a 50-something, skinny guy in for beating his wife. He was let go on probation. (This was before the two scumbags attached the first base coach of the Royals turning the running-on-the-field infraction into a heavy fine and a lifetime ban from US Cellular Field.)

I was there for that. It was amazing. I think it was because everyone was just generally shocked as much as they were excited. I remember counting those pitches just thinking "gotta get this guy out of the game as soon as we can". Then after Victorinos homerun is was just a drunk celebration for the next 6 hours.

Chad Curtis' walk off HR in game 3 of the '99 World Series...my first & only World Series game attended.

Been to a bunch of games and nothing ever earth shattering has ever happened.

I saw Barry Bonds hit the 2nd and 3rd HR's ever into the McCovey Cove, Dave Hansen pass Manny Mota for most pinch hits by a Dodger, and Kyle Farnsworth break a bat in the dugout.
