Some people think it's the greatest food on the face of the planet; others could take it or leave it.

What camp are you in?

i don't want pizza all the time, in fact, it's best when you rarely have it - so you can savor it. it's a good food when high, and there are sooooo many topics and styles, and part of cultures, it just can't go away!

I'm very lactose intolerant so I can't really eat it in it's traditional form. Occasionally I'll make one with sauce and grilled veggies and meat but no cheese. It's nice every once in a while but overall I can take it or leave it.

There are soooo many things that I can make that are better than pizza.

In a nutshell, I COOK! I don't rely on delivery type food. Put that walker to use old man on go to the grocery store.

If you ever feel like you are starting to not like pizza, it probably means you are eating it too much, leave it for awhile and then come back, it will be like fallin in love all over again, take it from a guy who works in a pizzeria

I love pizza. There are few things I like better than good pizza. Of course I like lots of other stuff like steak, potatoes, fried chicken, etc., but there are so many types and toppings that you can eat it way more frequently than most foods (IMO).

Of course moderation is always good, but pizza is really great.

I make pizza from scratch at home. Mix the dough in a bread machine with sun dried tomatoes in the crust. Use pesto for sauce that I sometimes make from scratch too, topped with provolone and mozz with mushrooms only. fuck pepperoni

Pizza is one of those rare foods that the options of how it is made is nearly limitless. I love to make and bake my own pizza. We have some pretty good pizza places here in houston, but the nearest to me is 20 minutes away.

I did like Chicago style pizza when I was up there, can't wait to try NY style.

Pizza is one of those foods with so many variations and differences that it almost can't be considered a singular food anymore. "Pizza" is as much a single food as "Chinese" is.

If you want the best pizza, go to Staten Island and go to either Nunzio's, Joe and Pat's, or Denino's. And I've heard good things about Lee's Tavern, but have yet to try it.

Yes, :insert garbage island joke here:, yes :insert bad ferry joke here:, and yes :insert phrase stating only time you go to Staten Island is to get to Jersey:, but Staten Island's three best features are its extensive reptile collection at the Staten Island Zoo, its home to the only Frank Lloyd Wright house in New York City, and the best pizza probably in the United States.

How am I supposed to think it's overrated?

http://www.lanova.com/

Holy shit, of course you think it's overrated, you've been actually paying to eat garbage instead of eating it for free out of the dumpster.

Here's a tip... if you're in Buffalo, don't bother with pizza. Eat some wings from Duff's, eat an El Nino or two Super Mightys from Mighty Taco, or if it's late at night, get some Jim's Steakout (there are multiple locations), but do not eat that garbage that they call pizza. If the place you buy pizza at puts barbeque sauce on the crust and gives you a side of blue cheese to dip your slice in, stop eating the pizza.

Pizza is probably the greatest food on the planet.

Vegitarians and meat eaters alike can sit down to a cheese pie and no one is annoyed or feels slighted. You can eat it on the go, take it home, take it to the work place, even eat it in the car. It's great cold. It stays in the refrigerator for days. It actually warms up very well if microwaved on low power or in the toaster over.

It's just the fucking best.

Where I live is a wonderful conflagration of ethnic foods...Pizza Huts die here..Dominos only makes money after 9:00 pm, when all the mom and pop's close. Mrs T's and brand name Kielbasas...well those are for another thread.
Here in the Scranton/Wilkes Barre area, almost every neighborhood has their own pizza shop, if not two. Not the cardboard crust, canned sauce, bland cheese of the chains or ROMA brands.
Honest to goodness hand made dough, sauce, and cheese blends (Old Forge Pa. calls itself the pizza Capitol of the US. ) Most of the places are family hand downs that have been open for decades. My Family's favorite, which my dad's family has known since their childhood...50 years? is Nicholas' Pizza. It is a thin crust, 12 incher with a slightly spicy sauce. Another popular pizza type is "Old Forge Pizza" same homemade ingredients, basically Sicilian in nature, but a thinner crust and more cheese and sauce. Rarely can you get both of quality in the same place, as families refuse that the other's is real pizza. Also, you get real toppings..none of the namby pamby california toppings either. Best you can get is a white with garlic, broccoli, onion, peppers, and mushrooms.

I have to agree. There are times I use a knife and fork when the pizza is scalding hot and/or there's a chance that the crust won't support the weight of the cheese and toppings. I only use the fork and knife for half of the slice.
