Always having heard "Everything in moderation is okay" makes my blood boil.

Is this really the case? Should we moderate everything we do?

Will it lead to longevity? Or, will it lead to a life not as fulfilling?

I wouldn't want someone telling me that I've had "just enough" of anything.

One glass of scotch is just enough for the morning. I say fuck that.

22 oz porterhouse? Sir, you should moderate it and have a 10 oz. Fuck that.

One line of coke is just right. Anything more is gluttony. Fuck that too.

I want what I want and as much of it as I want.

I am out of the medical field, fuck abstinence and moderation is what ever you determine it to be. If I want to drink an 18 pack of beer and stay up till 5 in the morning on A Tues/Wed. I will. Will my life be any different if I had not done this? Likely not.

when it comes to food they say everything in moderation is ok.

you can have your 22oz porterhouse, just not everyday.

exactly right
you need to alternate

porterhouse one day
t-bone the next
spare ribs the next

it's the key to good health

Can you love too much?

The question is not one of capability. Rather, it is a question of whether or not having moderation imposed upon you would really make you a better person in all areas.

So, you can love too much but, with moderation, would it benefit you in every way?

No, because if I love I have to love as much as I can, and it hurts to not do it. So moderation is flawed.

What if you became so involved in the love you have within you that it consumed every part of your being rendering you unable to take part in anything else?

Then I might finally be happy.

Then I might finally be happy.

Agreed. Like I originally said in my first post. Moderation is a tool of the devil.

Better to stop in time
than to fill to the brim.
Hone a blade to the sharpest point,
and it will soon be blunt.
Fill your house with gold and jade,
and no one can protect it.
Be prideful about wealth and position,
and you bring disasters upon yourself.
Retire when the work is done.
This is the way of heaven.

I really look at it as dont be a psycho but on the same level dont be a sissy. Also moderation is for a just life, and we have talked so just knock that out and get some skanky fun time.

or is 22 moderation and 32 excess?

The key question is: does it hurt so good or does it hurt so bad? If it hurts so bad then you have excess otherwise you have a zen of moderation.
