I was going to make this a poll but there would be too many choices.

What's the one word that you find completely unacceptable and offensive?

The "N" word?

The "C" word?

The "F" word?

Kinda childish, don'tcha think?

the "N" word is really bothersome to me. I grew up in Alaska, then moved to Alabama in 5th grade. I was treated so badly by all of the kids my age and for the first time I was witness to what these kids learned from their parents. I don't know if it was the time of life when you start hearing about those things (it easily could have been eskimos in alaska, and it was later when I visited in high school...), or if it really was something kids are exposed to early on, but I focused on it as one of the things I hated about Alabama (which was easy to do because I was so angry about moving away from Alaska and all of my friends).
Anyway, so we used to play a lot of football in middle school and we took it seriously, so when this big black kid kinda got in my face, who was actually a nice guy and I knew this, about my quarterbacking skills and how he was wide open all the time but I never threw to him I yelled back at him something about, "whatever you fat black, n...." I didn't say it, but I was egged on by all these white kids around me, like it was some rite of passage, "Say it! Say it!" they all yelled, "I'll say it if you won't!" I never said it, but to this day I think about that instance and regret that I even thought to go in that direction. At that time, I so wanted to be part of the gang, the southern kids, my new comrades, that I went straight to that ultimate "you are more different than I am and everyone talks about you" insult. God damn I was so angry.
Disclaimer: I'm not saying the south is more racist than the north, in fact you bastards in the NE can be scary racist. I'm also not saying that uttering "nigger" marks you as a fuckface, I think the intention is everything, and intention does not easily translate through type or even comedy, and that's why we have so much bullshit involved with these terms.

In closing,
Fuck you if you can't take a joke.

There are no words I've ever heard that can offend me, they are just words. I've used them all and I'm planning on using them all again.

Intent has offended me but not the words themselves and when it comes down to it, hardly ever intent. But the words, no.

Um, this is really embarrassing to admit, maybe. I have always thought of "tits" as nipples and "boobs" as breasts. I am that girl that laughs, uncomfortably, to sexual humor and slang body part names because I don't get them. I am sure this message board will bring me up to speed in a hurry.
