as discussed on sam&dave

you are dying and on life support..suddenly you flatline. Instead of that lame "BEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEP" what tune would you like to play?

I think i'd like "Tom Sawyer" by RUSH cuz who doesn't love that one? And plus, since I was on life support, whose to say I wasn't a "modern day warrior"?

Depends on who's around me...sullen douches who are just waiting for me to die to get my stuff.....something that will stay in their head forever and bug em..like the Barney theme song or Sunscreen.
People that loved me and cared about me.....something light and peppy..maybe Katrina and the Waves "I'm walking on Sunshine" or weird like ACDC "Big Balls".

Or, In Dead Earnest

If I should die before I wake,
All my bone and sinew take
Put me in the compost pile
To decompose me for a while.

Worms, water, sun will have their way,
Returning me to common clay
All that I am will feed the trees
And little fishes in the seas.

When radishes and corn you munch,
You may be having me for lunch
And then excrete me with a grin,
Chortling, "There goes Ian again."

'Twill be my happiest destiny
To die and live eternally.

I feel like this topic has come up in the past, maybe it was what song would want playing when you OD ... either way, when I go I'd to be listening to Brian Eno's "Some Far Away Beach".

I'm fairly certain that you can hear for a while after death, so I think ESD actually has a good point. I dont want my last seconds to be the panic of understanding that I just flatlined and this is the end.
Rather, some Permanent Vacation by Aerosmith might make me think that I am going on a nice Carribean Vacation (I live in PA, so the odds are good that I will die in cold weather)

Wow, I haven't heard this song since college and I loved it. Thanks for reminding me of it.

I'd OD to Comfortably Numb (the Van Morrison version only, please).

But I'd like to FLATLINE to this song, if only to drive my wife and her family crazy:

c'mon, at least say "Straight to Hell" cause that's all that song is.

Flood by Tool

Here comes the water.

All I knew and all I believed
are crumbling images

that no longer comfort me.
I scramble to reach higher ground,
some order and sanity,
or something to comfort me.

So I take what is mine, and hold what is mine,

suffocate what is mine, and bury what's mine.
Soon the water will come
and claim what is mine.
I must leave it behind,
and climb to a new place now.

This ground is not the rock I thought it to be.

Thought I was high, and free.
I thought I was there
divine destiny.

I was wrong.
This changes everything.

The water is rising up on me.
Thought the sun would come deliver me,
but the truth has come to punish me instead.

The ground is breaking down right under me.
Cleanse and purge me
in the water.

If I were to flatline... I'd want to hear my wife's voice either in a requiem or a mass like this one from Vienna. (her voice is first that you'll hear in this vid). Shitty quality because of Austrian recording laws (really)...dress rehearsal recording only.

I hear it around the house so much that sometimes it's a bother, or I ask if she's singing the soundtrack to a horror film. If it were my time, and I could; it's what I wanna hear.

I'd like to see some better development of the harmony in this -- you seem infatuated with that chord pattern, and some movement to somewhere might give it a stronger force through the percussive parts

The break is alright, but i'd like to hear some material reinterpreted a few ways throughout.

The C section, the more traditional section, might need less "autopilot."

The ending needs to stick. That's something that the box.net autorepeat lets you hear -- what is or isn't a "finality," even if it's not a stereotype.

Not bad, I'd like to hear some of the later stuff you do in this style
