I’m taking a trip to Chicago for 4 days in the middle of May. Going to make the pilgrimage to Molly’s for a Ron Bennington, try to catch a Cubs game, and see more of what else Chi-Town has to offer. The Windy City, the city of broad shoulders, that toddlin’ town, etc.

I have a free place to stay in the Hancock Building for the first two nights, but I need to find a decently priced hotel, preferably in the Lincoln Park or Wrigleyville area, as I imagine that’s where I’ll be spending a good deal of time.

Any thoughts?

Can't help you with a hotel in that area (we staying in the Hard Rock when we went), but the bars near Molly's are great. I fell in love with Chicago when we went out there. It's such a great city.

Your hotel options in LP or Wrigleyville are pretty much either going to be really expensive or really cheap shitholes. The only place I can think of that splits the difference is a Day's Inn on Diversey that's just a few blocks North of Molly's and only 2 El stops south of Wrigley.

Thanks for the info.

Any thoughts on other neighborhoods to look at that would provide easy access to Lincoln Park/Wrigleyville via the El, and not break the bank?
