Ah, my buddays. Yesterday I was at charity golf tournament in honor of a co-worker who passed away last year. I shot a 102, which isn't good, but it's my best round, and I had several great drives, the best being a 280 yard drive straight down the fairway.

Nice, how long have you been playing?
Since I was 12. But until recently, I never played much (2 or three times a year), and I always had a horrendous slice. Every drive I had would be to the right in the rough, trees or OB.
But last year on a golf trip with my buddays, a caddy suggested some changes to my grip and to ball positioning. After that, my drives were much, much straigher and longer. I'm still not consistent, and every now and then go right (and left), but I'm playing much better. I'm going to break 100 this year, and maybe even go past 90 this year or the next.

I'm a member of a club up here so I'm playing more than I used to. It's a pretty cheap club considering what some otehr clubs charge per year, but even this year, we can't afford it, so we're taking the year off.
But I have another charity tournament in three weeks (too many 35-40 year old friends, etc. are dying and leaving family behind. I'm hoping I can get out once or twice before then. We're playing at the Yale course, and that one's a bitch.

But as a country that was founded in puritan beliefs with the first colony being the "city on the hill" there has been a long stand tradition here of protecting the country by any means necessary.
Not all of our attacks on others originated as defense. Whether or not everyone still holds those beliefs as true, there is no doubt that some people still do.

I'm talking about the actual scriptures. How can anyone say torture is okay under Jesus' teachings when the man says "turn the other cheek?"
He even stopped his disciples from defending themselves and him when they came to get Jesus.
And yet, they think that Jesus would okay torturing someone because it may lead to stopping someone from attacking us?

That may be true, but that doesn't mean that it's supported by Christian scriptures. If you advocate torture, at least have the intellectual honest to say that it's not a Christian act.

Oh, agreed. But, you can also make the claim that any group of people who endorse certain acts and also subscribe to a particular belief may make the association of that particular set of beliefs automatically mean that their beliefs also endorse torturous acts.
However, many people are not able to tease those things apart.

I refuse to buy anything from these advertisers. If your commercial annoys me, either because it simply sucks or we keep getting inundated by them, you and your product can go to hell. That covers 90% of the advertisers on 202, including Sirius.
