If Favre comes out for the next series with the Vikes' up 41-0, both he and Childress should be ripped more viciously than just about any player ever has been.

Up 34-0, inside the 5, 4th & goal....and they go for it instead of kicking the field goal.
Sure...Favre ain't running that team.

The moral of this story is that we're likely going to get a situation where we go into the National game tonight where if the Jets win, they're in, if they lose, the Steelers are in, and the Bengals play all their backups.
There's going to be a lot of offseason bitching about it.

Didn't Denver start out 6-0?
Forget that...they were 8-4 and lost three straight...now granted, two of the three were against Indy and Philly, but that loss to Oakland is their season.
Oakland's funny that way...they have some of the most impressive victories in the league for a five win team.

too bad. If they don't like it, then don't put yourself in a position to need help. For example, if Pittsburg makes a field
goal they beat the Bears and they're not in this position. If you don't want to depend on the Bengals to
get into the playoffs, win your own games.
And who says the Jets are automatic against whoever the Bengals
put out there? Sanchez is still a rookie.
And is Taco Bell shitting me trying the health food angle? The only explaination
is that Americans are getting so much dumber, and by Americans
I mean all those fat sweaty humps in the Midwest and the South. There, I said it.

I agree, but it doesn't change the fact that there's going to be a lot of bitching about it, especially if it's the Steelers that get left out.
Goodell set the stage for this by announcing he was going to investigate tanking games this offseason.

Goodell set the stage for this by announcing he was going to investigate tanking games this offseason.
And it'll actually make the story even worse that the Jets are potentially being gifted two victories two weeks in a row....if they get rolled in the first round, it'll just throw gasoline on the fire.

Any word on Pat White?
I like the Dolphins answering the bell here...game still has some life to it.
I'm not sure if the Jaguars mailed it in today, or if Cleveland is just playing that well...they're an entirely different team since they found out Jerome Harrison could play...they're going to be fun to watch next year if they get their QB situation stabilized.
Texans with a big comeback...bolsters the Broncos chances if they pull off the W.
Pats starters are out.

What a throw by Thigpen!!!
Brady came out just to throw an INT to the Texans...that game is finished...Dolphins are eliminated with a Houston win.
Pittsburgh is eliminated if they lose here.
That would set it up for the Texans and Broncos to jump if the Ravens and/or Jets lose.

5) Green Bay Packers
6) Philadelphia Eagles

For the record, I dont blame him for todays loss. I blame Sean McDermott and the wideouts.
But I just feel its time to move on with him. I dont care about stats. I actually think hes a pretty good QB. And I still think hes got a decent shot at this years playoffs. But if he does lose, well, Id like to see an injection of new blood. Our offense on the whole is a young hungry team, Id like to see a young hungry QB that has spent more then enough time learning from the bench. Just like Favre had to move on from Green Bay to give Rodgers his time to shine, I just feel that another exit from the playoffs this year would be the time to bring in Kolb.
For the record, I would consider myself in the 20% on that list.

I see your point, but I think you go that route in 2011.
You have McNabb one more season, why not give him one more shot. At that point, if they reassess and decide to develop a new QB to fit their young offense instead of pay McNabb a ton of money, I can't fault them.
I'm just never going to be in the camp of "we have to get rid of him."
And I think for the most part, their plan is to play out next year, offer McNabb a low-ball contract, and when he walks, go with Kolb.

I mean, flying Fireman Ed to the game? This is a guy having fun.
To me, that's always been the difference between Ocho Cinco and T.O. or even Randy Moss (who seems to have at least learned to keep his douchiness private now). There's a sense of fun and playfulness with Ocho Cinco, but it feels like hostility coming out of T.O.

i'd say that pretty true. Chad really is just trying to get a laugh. Holding up the 'please don't fine me' sign was great. and then the dumb NFL fined him for it.

http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2010/01/06/giants-fire-another-coach/
When we watched Giants owner John Mara's epic press conference, it was obvious that changes were coming in New York.
Defensive coordinator Bill Sheridan only lasted a few more hours.
Two days later, the team has also fired defensive line coach Mike Waufle. Waufle was reportedly a popular coach, but his unit was the most disappointing and expensive on the team.
Now a new coach will have to get Mara's money's worth from Justin Tuck, Osi Umenyiora, Chris Canty, Rocky Bernard, and the rest of the highly paid group.
There have been a lot of rumors about potential Giants defensive coordinator candidates from Pepper Johnson to Romeo Crennel to Dick Jauron, but they remain just rumors for now. Perry Fewell is the only candidate known to have an interview

I can't help wondering if something is up here, like USC is about to be hammered with NCAA sanctions and Carroll wants to get out of town.
Or maybe it's ego, and he wants to see if he can have true NFL success after a fairly mediocre record the first go-around. Who knows.

Not to mention, you post is nonsense. It proves NOTHING. Just more Matty spin cycle garbage.
Keep crying. Waaaaah. You are a goddamn liar and such a pussy when things don't go your way.
I think the best part of this whole story is hearing my wife say "Spoon is a fucking idiot."

Are u REALLY calling me Tila bc of the Merriman's incident earlier in the year!? Really?! ahahahaahahh!
TD!
God I hope the Jets lose.
It has nothing to do with Merriman. But intriguingly enough, you'd probably give up your asshole to him too.

Tila, I notice that you get very silent when you get proven wrong. Where's your mouth about the Ravens and Jamal Lewis?
I never said the Jets aren't destined to win the Super Bowl. I just thought laying 50-1 odds was a bit much.
WHAT ARE YOU FUCKING TALKING ABOUT!?! You're proving my fucking point! I said you're pulling out stupid year versus year rankings to say the Jets and Ravens are both similar Defenses, on the same level. I don't even think it's needed by me to show you where your wrong, and I pointed out that you are PICKING stats out of THOUSANDS to prove your false point, versus actually having an logic at all.
You really convince yourself don't you. Well congrats, bc ur the only one you putrid prick.

Help me out here. You claim I'm so retarded, tell me what's wrong in comparing the 2000 Ravens D vs. the 2009 Jets D.
I never said the Jets D was better than the Ravens D either. But the Jets DO have the best D and the best running game in the playoffs.
Keep trying, Tila. I'm just waiting for you to post shit about pics of ex-gfs in this thread too.

You two are going to get this thread locked. Why couldn't you have this sort of an argument in MPW and got that shut down early too?

Bc he didn't say the Jets are the comparable to the Raven's D there. I'm sure he's most here think the team giving up 8 yards per rush to Benson and his team with no passing offense are right in the same ballpark.

I've posted stats and opinions. Tila's been the one on the personal attack warpath. I'm just standing here, mindin' my own.

Baltimore gave up 10.3 ppg in 2000. That is ridiculous. (They also went 12-4)
The original point was that Jamal Lewis & the quality of the defense with Dilfer was superior to Sanchez & the NY Jets components.
Face it, even if the Jets win this week....its over next week.
I don't get the Tila thing?
