View Full Version : My Dad was in a BAD wreck.

His truck was T-boned by a mail van, which actually happened to me about ten years ago. It's definitely serious because he went to the hospital and my Dad hates hospitals and would never go to one unless it was serious. The doctors assume there is internal bleeding at this point and he can't move his left arm at all. I'm crying like a fucking baby and there is nothing at all I can do.

oh no. is he close enough for you to get to the hospital?
That's terrible. I hope your dad pulls out of this and is back to full health soon.

Thanks guys. I can't really get to my Pops in any decent amount of time and it's fucking killing me. My Dad has always been the toughest guy I've ever met and I grew up tough thanks to him, and I really don't know what to do in this situation. I'm waiting on updates from my Mom, and I feel like an enormous chunk of me is missing or has been injured. I'm usually the most confident guy in the world, and this is a really foreign feeling to me. It fucking sucks.
Hey brother, hang in there and I hope everything works out OK.
You're in my thoughts, and keep us posted.

Very sorry man, best wishes for you, your dad and your family.
At least if you can't be there he's not alone, he's got whoever lives near him to help him.

Thanks again to all of you. Your thoughts and prayers are really genuinely appreciated. My Dad is in stable condition but I'm really just getting sporadic information as to the specifics of his injuries. His arm is broken in multiple places, but the more concerning thing is that they fear severe nerve damage. Bleeding has stopped, so that is good.
I've decided to start drinking heavily. I'm just trying to cope right now.

You and your family are in my prayers. My mom was really sick last year, we weren't sure if she was going to make it. It was one of the worst feelings in the world. Usually parents take care of the kids, not the other way around. I was lucky enough to be close and stay at the hospital with her.
I am glad that he is stable. Just hang in there. I am with Misti, try to get out to visit. You might feel better seeing him. If not, try to talk to him on the phone as soon as he is able.

I lost mine when I was 25 and my mom a few years later. Wouldn't wish that shit on anyone. Also don't be afraid to seek out someone to talk to during shit like this

I really appreciate the thoughts. He's doing pretty well, considering. He's in good spirits, but he is pretty fucking high right now. I was actually having a "conversation" with him a while ago and I coudn't help but start laughing at the crazy dope-speak.
