I'm talking a dining out experience. What is the best meal you've ever had in terms of food, ambiance, occasion, dining partner?

Mine is The Inn at Little Washington, anniversary dinner with an ex-wife.

La Giostra in Florence Italy, on my honeymoon with my lovely wife.

Champagne, Unique appetizers, white truffle on everything, grapa, tiramasu, fresh fruit in gelato, great ambiance, excellent staff. The pasta dish I had was Carbonara of Alba’s white truffles.

No Joke, If anyone there is headed to Florence, Italy definitely go there you will not be disappointed. It's a little pricey, but not completely insane and you definitely get your money's worth.

at the Union League Cafe in New Haven, when i was in high school. My French class visited a local French restaurant or cafe once per school year; freshman year, it was to the Union League.

I ordered some sort of round layered thing...it consisted of - more or less - thin slices of potatoes, on top of which were layers of shredded duck (my favorite meat) alternating with some apple-cinnamon-raisin concoction and more layers of potato...

i'm not doing it any justice, but it was fucking phenomenal.

best meal for the company would probably be every Christmas dinner while i was growing up...at my grandparents' house.

The fanciest, yummiest meal I've ever had was at Mario Batali's "Babbo." The pork chops and grilled octopus I had were literally in the top three of things I've put in my mouth.

There used to be a place in Vieques that was basically a couple of shacks put together deep in the woods. The food and ambiance was absolutely amazing. It has since closed, which is very sad.

My favorite local meal is this tiny little restaurant on the 2nd floor in Boston's North End called Marco. If you don't pay close attention, you'll completely miss it. The food was some of the best Italian food I've ever eaten, the mood was brilliant, and the waiter remembered my wine a month apart in visits.
