Joe complained, "That was three long hours of looking up references in the library for my history paper. I wasn't done yet and the library closed. Did you know the librarian flickers the light deliberately in a very annoying way to let people know it was time to leave?"

"Yes, they do that. I often lose track of time at the library when I'm reading, then the lights flicker on and off as the code to let me know it is time to go home."

Joe kicked off his running shoes, then plopped down heavily on his bed, causing the bookbag to bounce.

Joe stretched out and said, "I'll admit you spend more time in the library than me, Frank. Tonight, though, I was the one studying hard! Where were you?"

Frank gestured at his open laptop computer on the desk with a cable snaking out the back to the phone outlet, "I did my research on the web. I finished a couple hours ago."

"On the web?"

"Sure. I downloaded some excellent history papers to use as references from various universities. It was much faster than searching magazines and photocopying at the library."

"Are you going to have http addresses instead of journal titles in your endnote list?" Joe smirked, having used the computer enough to know about http addresses.

"Well, half of the articles were first published in a journal which is listed. I can give that as the reference."

"And the other half?"

Frank looked worried, "I just have http addresses. Do you think Mrs. Johnson will accept that as for reference sources?"

"I don't know."

"Well, I'm turning it in this way."

"Fine."

Joe pulled out a notepad from the backpack and with his head supported on one arm and the other hand holding a pen began writing. Frank went back to typing.

After some time, Joe put down the pen, "I think that'll do it. I'll type it up tomorrow. Are you typing your history paper?"

"No, I finished that before you came in...as long as Mrs. Johnson accepts the http addresses for the references."

"Are you doing computer research on our latest case?"

"Not anymore. Currently, I'm checking out a web site devoted to stories about us."

Joe got off the bed and came over, "Any good ones?"

"Hardly any at all. I checked a week ago and since then nothing new has appeared. It's pretty dead."

Joe smirked, "Hey, why don't you post a message on the Hardy Boys story board?"

"We have a non-disclosure agreement with the publisher about our adventures, remember?"

Joe countered, "You don't have to tell them about any of our cases."

"What else would I tell them about?"

Joe requested, "Here, get up and let me type. Why don't you proofread my paper?"

Frank picked up Joe's handwritten paper from the bed and complained, "I can barely read your handwriting."

"You always say that, but you read it well enough anyway."

Frank read for a while, scribbling in a few notes for Joe.

After Frank reached the end, he said, "Pretty good paper, Joe."

"Thanks."

Frank came over by the computer, peered over Joe's shoulder, and asked, "What are you..."

Frank watched as Joe's fingers flashed and typed, "What are you..."

Frank said, "Writing."

Joe typed, "Writing."

Frank frowned and read silently for a while, frowning even more as he saw Joe type, "Frank frowned and read silently."

Frank said, "That is the most boring story..."

Joe typed, "That is the most boring story..."

"I ever read," Frank finished.

"I ever read," appeared on the screen.

"I don't believe you are going to post a story about this boring night of studying," Frank said. "You wrote about yourself in the third person."

"Yes, I did," Joe confirmed.

Frank watched as Joe typed in the last lines of dialog. Joe smiled, and grabbed the mouse. Joe moved the pointer on the screen to the rectangle marked, "Send." As Frank shook his head in disbelief, Joe clicked.

I love how some people think they can dictate the terms of what a fan is. We are all fans of the show in different ways. Personally I like Fez, and think he's funny as hell. Fez and Ron play well off each other. If you were keeping score Fez leads the league in assists. But just because someone doesn't dig Fez(a certain aspect of the show) it doesn't mean that they aren't a "real" fan of the show. Now it might mean that they don't get certain aspects of the show. Or understand that it's fun to hear about the personal side of the hosts we listen to everyday, while trying to figure out how much of it is a shoot. But in the end it doesn't matter. Why? Because it's funny as hell!

I love how some people think they can dictate the terms of what a fan is. We are all fans of the show in different ways. Personally I like Fez, and think he's funny as hell. Fez and Ron play well off each other. If you were keeping score Fez leads the league in assists. But just because someone doesn't dig Fez(a certain aspect of the show) it doesn't mean that they aren't a "real" fan of the show. Now it might mean that they don't get certain aspects of the show. Or understand that it's fun to hear about the personal side of the hosts we listen to everyday, while trying to figure out how much of it is a shoot. But in the end it doesn't matter. Why? Because it's funny as hell!

There is a huge difference between a fan who has criticism, and a person that comes to a message broad to make fun, pass judgment and go out of their way to be cruel.

I think that over the years Fez has given us a lot of funny, enough to garner respect and admiration for what he has given and what he gives on a daily basis. Yes Fez has had a rough rode of it and yes sometimes it has been hard to listen to, but I think there is a lot to be said for him being fairly honest and facing up to the fact that he wasn't in the game and needed help from Dave.

I also think that Fez is on the up swing. I really hope he is, I really like Fez and feel for what he is going through and really do hope that he finds peace soon regarding his secrets or whatever life throws at him next.
