No, after the R&F replay they've always had the replay of the 2nd half of O&A from the day prior. Being a night owl I usually listen to both.

I personally think 202 should alternate the O&A show with Ron and Fez everyday instead of 2 replays back to back of O&A. I can't wait until Monday!

What's this about? The Ron and Fez show is now going to be 4 hours long? I haven't heard today's show yet. I don't want to get my hopes up yet.

Sad that SiriusXM's financial problems are so bad that they have dropped transmitting to mountain time zoners.

Wonder if this means live reads will be more spread out, rather than the every 20 mins.

or

if this means even more live reads. :furious:

I wonder if this indicates O&A's listenership is declining while R&F is increasing or at least holding steady. I would think so just based on my enjoyment levels of the two shows.

Not to say O&A is bad, but I do think it has declined, and it is going head to head with Howard. R&F don't really compete with anyone but Bubba and the wrap-up show.

I still contend that the best solution for Sirius as a whole would be to leave Howard on in the morning, leave R&F midday and have O&A switch to evenings. Why would you have two products that compete with each other internally?

And with Bubba, it's only one day a week they're on at the same time.

And I don't see how O&A and Stern can be considered "competitors" seeing as how they work for the same company. Just as long as people are listening, I doubt they care what show people are listening to. And not to mention there is a bunch of other shows on in the same timeslot.

I'm thinking more that, the bosses probably don't want any sort of old worst of material during a morning drive, seeing as the 11-12 hour eastern is the 8-9 pacific, I think it'll definitely help R&F and not really hurt O&A, so it's sorta a win-win.

While I sorta agree that that is probably the best move for all, Sirius/XM already has your money with the subscription, every frigging channel is competing with eachother internally. All they really want is every to frigging pay more for the sirius channels, which is pretty ridiculous.

Wow.

Ron and Fez, 11-3.

I've longed for a return to the 4 hour shift since they came to satellite, but right now probably isn't the ideal time for it.

I'm sure the boys will pull it off without a hitch, though.

Yes, this is fucking fantastic news. I have been waiting for the 4 hour show to come back forever and here it is.

I will say this though. The actual runtime of the current 3 hour show is actually more than the runtime for FM 4 hour shows. So this really is an insane amount of Ron and Fez. I love it.

GreatAmericanZero
05-14-2009, 05:31 PM
oh man, the 3 hour highpoint during my work day is now going to be a 4 hour highpoint? that is such good news. With O&A going to 11 that means they are doing away with the hour of stale "worst ofs" which is awesome. Live programming the full workday

I know the radio personalities may bitch about management and all, but SIRIUS seems to care more about having constant entertainment on 202 than XM ever did

I like it... almost as much as the month when it was 24/7 Ron Fez last year. I'm one of those guys who doesn't listen to O/A as much as I used to. I would like to hear a show of nothing but Carbonite live reads.

i think this would be a good thing for O&A too. If anyone has been listening to them since they lost the FM, they've been padding the show with so much "worst of"s that it was driving me nuts. Like, they would do a 6min commercial break, then play an old bit, then another 6mins, and then they would finally return live

atleast with them doing 6-11 can they finally just do a normal radio show where they break and come back like every other show has to do. No more weird commercial schedules and fillers that have been making the show awkward for the last couple of years

I have been a subscriber for 5 years & have slowly been switching to Ron & Fez. Anthony & Jimmy are brilliant. In my opionion, Opie has been trying to drive the show away from its organically funny roots. Hope he steers it back.

In the meantime, RON & fez have aged like a fine wine and get better with each bit, each producer, each intern, and Ron manage's the slow deterioration of Fez's sanity like a sam peckinpaw slow motion shoot out scene. He disects it brilliantly, exposes it frankly, and is an island of sanity in an insane world.

Do not leave us Ronnie B.... You are an artistic genius...

probably much more live reads and they'll probably play 'fatty pneumonia' 6 more times per show b/c 4 isn't enough, apparently.

Yeah, O&A will be under pressure to squeeze as much brilliance into the same pocket.

They will STILL begin at 6:08-6:10am and play old bits sandwiched between commercials.

Give them an inch...

Thats stupid, they are basically replaying the show when virtually no one is going to listen? WTF, just start it at 9pm, then turn on the OnA replays after that, I always thought they started their replays too late.

I bought 5200 shares of XM at 15 cents. Come on baby :drunk:

Only $192 per share left to go.

maybe, but the new management seems like they actually want O&A to do live material, unlike XM that barely paid attention

and i didn't know they play old bits til 6:10am because i'm not up that early haha

How the hell are they going to pull of 4 hours a day?
They can barely get through 3 hours. What are they
going to do, have Anthony sit in with them for the extra hour?

This feels to me like simply a ploy to get more commercials in. Right now Ron and Fez (excluding live reads) don't play many commercials, it's only like 3 ever 30 minutes. An extra 60 minutes could have much larger commercial breaks. It just feels like advertising during the show has really been ramping up lately.

But I'd love to be wrong.

Because O&A is different than Stern. It's the same as NBC and MSNBC having two different crime documentaries on at the same time. Your idea sucks. Have you actually tried to sit through Stern lately?

Also knowing this company it's probably a fucking typo.

I wish that was public since we pay for that service...
