Yes and no. He didn't die from anything linked to his epilepsy, but the meds they give them, might and could cause problems down the road, like kidney problems I think. What meds are you giving her now?

Phenobarbitol....shes on 4 pills a day......she hasnt had any siezures since we upped the dosage, but before we medicated her at all, she started having them on a consistent basis.....the scariest shit i've had to deal with was when she had her first.....it came out of the blue, and she was just sitting by my feet.

My vet says that there can be residual damage to the liver, so we monitor it every few months....would like to eventually ween her off of it for the other, less toxic, medication.

my dog was on 4 pills a day too, plus potassium bromide, a liquid I had to give if everyday. and you are right, that first one was so scary. i had no clue what was going on. I thought he was choking or something. I hope everything works out for you and her with this.
