What cliches do you think are overused in movies (the ones that are made fun of by movies like "Not Another Teen Movie" and "Scary Movie")
My entry: The bad guy explaining his diabolical plan (in detail) to the hero as he believes he is about to kill the hero.

How the guy or girl lies to the person they love all throughout the movie and always gets forgiven in the end.
How people are always saying how they knew they were gonna marry a person upon first meeting them. C'mon, that never happens!

The Matrix is on it's way to being the most referenced/lampooned movie (previously Blair Witch Project held that title)
Another cliche: Bad guy throws lavish party which hero uses as opportunity to sneak in (usually disguised as guest) and break into their office/computer/vault to find their "diabolical plans".
On the same tract- the bad guy is some time of international terrorist/criminal, yet everyone refers to him as "well-respected businessman"...

the main character dead the whole time was ONE movie. ONE MOVIE!!!
I hate Matrix kick which is still being used, I hate the "it was all a dream"
I hate the bomb that counts down seconds in a unique way that seconds can last minutes.
Good guys will alays win with a final bullet.
Bad guys are British.
Love will triumph over all.

When you find out the whole movie isn't true and the end throws you until you think about it and then it makes sense i.e. the usual suspects & total recall.

The action movie where the Hero gets shot at about a billion times, but never gets hit (James Bond is the best example of this)
Or worse, he gets hit, but it's just in the arm/shoulder, so he's able to continue on. I mean, c'mon, getting shot in the arm has gotta hurt worse than they make it out to be.

very funny, by "American Beauty" was another one
Also what about The Underdog team wins the big game in the end by 1 point/goal
When a plane is low on fuel, the hero usually taps the gas guage as if that will help.
Bombs always have big, blinking, beeping timer displays.
When you are alone in the back seat of the car, make sure you sit in the middle
Cars chasing each other in the middle of a city will not suffer enough damage to stop the chase
People never lock their cars or close their windows when they park
Cars never have a Rearview mirror

Actually, I think Star Wars is the best example. It spawned the term "Storm-Trooper Syndrome" where the troopers couldn't seem to hit the broad side of a sandcrawler....
How about defusing bombs? They always seem to know the correct color of wire to cut. I'm sure that all bombs are built with the right color wires to the right spots.

I'm sick of mismatched cops being teamed together as partners (don't forget the hardass Lt.), then by the end of the movie they are best friends.
