This guy seems to be hell bent on destroying any image he had assembled of himself.
Why is that? Was the pressure too much?
Why train like that and throw it away once you got the gold? Am I being unfair to him?
Is he the Tom Green of Sports?

Is your analogy based solely on finding two pictures with similar expressions? Because it's really kind of a stretch.
Seriously? He wins 8 gold medals but two losses in a row and he's done? Seriously? SERIOUSLY?

You didn't hear? After his second loss he was seen humping a moose carcass.

Umm...yes, seriously. Riding high, then crashing to Earth in ruin..? No similarity? Riiiight. He has been sucking big time in almost everything he has attempted to do for months and months. Look into it.

Based on that article, wouldn't he be more akin to Eldrick and his swing changes?

You're acting like Tom Green was America's sweetheart or something. He was a comic who got a lot of buzz for an MTV TV show, took some movie parts, had a flop vanity project and his career tailed off when he lost his buzz. You could just as easily analogize him to any celebrity whose career tailed off, and it would still be a kind of lousy analogy. Why you think Phelps is suddenly synonymous with Tom Green is beyond me.

Tom Green never really seemed like a douchebag. Phelps is definitely a douchebag.
