Not so much a dry run then, but I would probably leave at least 4 hours before normal people would leave for the destination. That's why I always have a book or something with me, to fill in the downtime if everything works like how it is supposed to and I don't get lost or hit traffic.

I have to go along with Fez on this one, at least partially. If there is something big I have to do (like a job interview, medical appointment, etc.), I am not familiar with where it is, and it is not too much out of the way, I will take a practice run to make sure I can find it and will make it to the appointment on time.

However, I don't do it every time and if the location is out of the way I will just leave a little earlier than necessary to make sure I have enough time to get back in the game if I get lost.
