Have you gotten yourself worked up over a bump in the night? An eerie shadow?
Let's hear it.

Umm...

the other day when I drove dead smack in front of the fire station and the fire alarm went off at that exact moment. I screamed cause I thought I was struck by a fire truck.

My 5 yr old laughed like hell. :furious:

Came home from a night out to a pitch black house. I heard a child singing in a foreign language somewhere in my house and freaked the fuck out. It turned out to be the title screen from the Godfather II DVD with little Vito Corleone singing from the quarantine. My TV was off so I didn't realize what it was for a few minutes.

Thought I was having a heart attack, ran to get an EKG and a physical.. was diagnosed with being a Nervous Nelly who could use a good night sleep.

Woke up with a message on my Wii (glowing blue light) thought my house was on fire.

And that's why you always leave a note.

Every time I hear a rap song for the first time that has a police siren in it.

on a similar note I get pissed off when I hear the honking horn at the beginning of "Country Honk" on Let It Bleed.

I hear the horn honk and I assume it's someone beeping at me...I involuntarily yell "FUCK YOU!"

Many times but it's always when I'm home alone....and it's usually the icemaker or if there is a storm going on I start hearing things.

But beware because as soon as I get freaked I get out my gun and it stays with me until I fall asleep. Don't ever sneak up on me if I'm home alone.

One time I lived down the shore with a lot of people so we shared rooms. I went to Great Adventure, and I won a giant stuffed lion. I put it in the bathroom and it would scare people as they opened the door.

One time I put it on my roommate's bed to scare him when he got home. An hour or so goes by and I go back into the room and promptly scare the shit out myself thinking there was a giant dog on the bed.

I laughed.

i had a night terror once. actually, i think it was sleep paralysis, because in night terrors i think you can get up and move. or, it was something along those lines.

i visited home last summer and slept over my brother & SIL's house, in my niece's bedroom.

in the middle of the night, i was sleeping, and suddenly heard voices like my SIL and her mom (who lives with them) were talking somewhere in the house (they weren't up - i realized it wasn't them after a moment)...then the fan that was blowing on me completely filled my ears, and sort of hurt them. i felt as though i woke up...looked at the room, and saw that the entire floor was covered in a festering blackness. it was pure evil. then i heard the sound of demonic children laughing...most fucked up sound you could imagine.

so i'm lying there, feeling fully awake but apparently somewhere between sleep and waking...and this little demon child - it was just a black mist with these piercing red eyes made of fire - hops up onto the bed and begins walking up toward me. i could feel the weight of each step on the mattress and the covers...

it came up right over my face and just stared at me. i held my breath and tried to wake myself up or wish it away or something, but it didn't seem possible. then, in a moment, it disappeared, the room cleared, and i actually woke fully up. i was in the exact position, looking in the exact spot where the demon kid was.

um, yeah, that scared me for a while.

Exactly! Except I have a handgun but I want a shotgun really badly. Maybe I can ask for one for my birthday.

For me its usually when one of the dogs starts barking for no apparent reason. Then I get freaked out especially if my b/f is working nights.
Last night I went outside at around 11 to get one of them to come inside and I heard this weird rumbling squeaking groaning sound...the dog was standing staring down the backyard toward the lake...it took me a while to realize it was the ice on the lake finally starting to give way. The rest of the night I kept hearing it, it sounded like car doors slamming and the dogs would go off every time they heard it.

I swear from time to time, I hear my front door opening and shutting. I think it's that cat of mine leaving for the night. Then I'm nervous the rest of the night.

often I,m am stuck in traffic on the George Washington Bridge on my motorcycle and start to think if in 1930, they figured there be this much weight stopped still on the span with the addition of the lower level all suspended in the air by twisted wires.I then just ride up the middle between lanes to get off of it.

Not as much as I used to. The worst was not really conscious. I used to wake up gasping for breath but I have not done that in a while.

mentioned this on the listening thread... started when I would take a night trip back to college to stay awake... on a really dark road, I would pretend that a scary person was looking at me through the driver's side window... I still jump and skip a heartbeat when I catch my reflection in the side window while driving

When we moved into our (current) house I was up really late unpacking stuff. I was the only one awake. I saw another person in the window and screamed.....and then realized it was just a reflection of me.
