i think i hate jesse ventura now. not only is he a nutjob, but he has no sense of humor and might actually be retarded. today, he was going thru his pre-planned lines comparing someone dedicating themself to surfing to someone devoted to religion. jimmy norton made a joke along the lines of "well, you can't compare the two because surfing has started wars and killed untold millions." retard ventura took this at face value and said "oh yeah, not like the church, they've never done anything like that." really moron, you thought he was seriously saying wars were fought over surfing?? :wallbash:

during the afternoon replay, i switched to howard, as i'd already heard the ventura interview. surprise, surprise, they also had ventura on. it was a quite boring interview. ventura bitched about his 120k salary and how his meals were deducted from that - yeah, regular peole don't have to pay for their meals, douche. then he got into his conspiracy theories and howard seemed to be eating it up. "oh, that's interesting and you're writing a book on the matter? since you were a governor people will listen to what you say." not a trace of irony or anyone on the staff trying to dispute a word he said. what a waste.

you didn't have to suffer through his term as governor.

I listened to it on the way home from work. He referenced twice that religion did in fact do those things. I lost my shit laughing at that.

Maybe he's actually so smart that he pretended to be dumb to make a throw-away joke memorable. Didn't think of that one, did you?

The Stern interview kicked ass over the O & A one.

At least Howard knows what time he goes off the air.

Plus I cringe whenever we get the Ant/Jimmy political report

Odds on Ant gloating about how he verbally destroyed Jessie tomorrow morning?

Ventura is an over exaggerated hack. He will never know what it is like to be a real man.

This is one of my big problems with O&A...they interview for shit. When a guest is on a media tour, their agent is just sending them places...it's not their priority to learn all of the nuances of your show. O&A often act like if you don't "get their club", then you don't get a good interview.

That mindset is completely unprofessional in my opinion.

Yeah, no research is ever done. Duff had them all perplexed today with his Johnny Thunders talk.

Did you know he was a navy seal?

Whoa, easy there. You're sure going out on a limb calling O&A unprofessional.

I don't really enjoy there interviews. Sometimes, they knock it outta the park (The Tarantino interview with Ant was possibly the best Tarantino interview I ever heard).

They just tend to attempt to bring the person they are interviewing into the show, which kinda stops the flow. They'll play clips from something on there show, or talk about studio problems, and it's not good.

See...I hate that in an interviewer. I don't see the problem in having a discussion with the person about their perspective on things, while managing to plug their latest material. That mindset only improves your reputation with agents/media handlers and then garners you more quality guests.

Its not really rocket science.

Listen to Ron's interview of the Vaselines yesterday. He really didn't have a personal interest in the band, but he clearly did enough research to have a quality conversation with them.

The thing that makes Ron (and anyone skilled at it) a great interviewer is letting the guest be the star.

O & A can't bear the thought of that.

I'm not a howard fan but he's better than the boys at interviews. Ronnie B is a lot better they just plain suck.

I caught the tail end of the show, but I thought it was a best off because the interview was suddenly cut off midstream. They should bring back the Super Mario music.
