I've tried countless times to get to like his show, I used to check out the TV show too on E!, and I just don't see what all the hype is about. I don't think the show is funny, or all that entertaining. On a level of viewer-to-listener power I would compare him to Oprah, in that I just don't see what the mass appeal is for either of them.

I have been switching over and listening to Howard since Anthony ruined O and A for me and every word out of Howard's mouth just seems to scream at me, " YOU MUST LOVE ME YOU MUST BUY MY SPONSORS PRODUCTS, YOU MUST CONFORM TO MY WAY OF THINKING"

So when it comes to radio shows I have to give it to Ron and Fez, they are surprisingly consistent, on all fronts. They engage their listeners with open arms and allow them to not only be a part of the show but in a lot of cases they are the show. Ron and Fez actually care about each other in a real life way so you know that the relationship isn't a fix.

Also Ron's view on life is just so unique. This is very embarrassing to me but I have listened to the show where Fez isn't talking and Earl goes to the hospital about 10 times. There is something soothing and engaging in that show that I could listen to it everyday for a month and not get tired of it, but Ron is atomic in that show. He balances his emotions while trying to give us a radio show and I applaud him for his talent and skills.

I disagree with Anthony on his political views and think he spent half a year dragging down the show because of his fear of blacks and his personal greed. He used every chance he could to rant and scream and and half the time he sounded like a child, he also was ignorant on the actual issues, and threw out words that he didn't know the definitions of to defend his points.

Howard Sterns Channel and show have a major quality O&A lack.........Focus. The channel is run like a well oiled Machine and the flow of the show has structure. O&A lack ALL of these qualities, even though I still enjoy them they ARE NOT THE SHOW THEY WERE AT NEW OR THE START OF XM. I cap that because they don't seem to understand that.

As far as comparing "yes men" goes, you gotta realize O&A not only have yes men but sub par producers as well. On the Howard Stern Show, Howard rules with an iron fist, heaven help some producer trying to be a 3rd or 4th mic. It just doesn't happen.

Howard has always seemed a little more produced. He also uses a LOT of sound clips (from what I've listened to). But, again, he can pay most of his guys. O&A have like 2 producers and a bunch of interns.

I live in Quebec so no matter how much I get payed I pay 50% taxes on it plus I pay 10% or so in federal taxes on top of that. So I don't pity him and his 50% tax bracket. Taxes are a part of life no matter where you live sometimes they are high sometimes they are low. Anthony was screaming about his because a black man had designs on his pile and he didn't like it. Oh and because he was used to republicans taking his money to become warlords instead of using his money to improve roads or improve day care. In Ant's world guns are good helping America recover from 8 years of domestic stagnation is bad.

I am a liberal with libertarian leanings so when it comes to my political views and what I listen to I would rather get them from a paper or a blog of reporter and not from a pseudo celebrity or someone that has an axe to grind so I don't like rants about politics at all.

When Ant's racism was a bit it was mildly amusing in a shake your head at the crazy man sort of way. I'll never get the Stern hate on here. Does he have annoying tendencies? Sure. The daily psychotherapy of guests, naked chicks on radio(because of Howard TV), Blatant hypocrisy and over the top self-serving promotion. The truth is he packs more entertainment in his show than ever, the old shows have become unlistenable because the show has evolved so much. I have always been a Ron and Fez fan, but one thing that is both good and bad about the show is that it hasn't changed much in 10 years. It's good because it hasn't gotten worse like O and A.
I had a rent a car for a week and had XM only in the rental. I listened to O and A for the first time in a long time and with an open mind. When did Norton become the only good part of the show? Anthony has clearly lost his mind and isn't even trying(possibly a chemical dependancy) and Opie obviously is in therapy(going out of his way to sound reasonable). The problem is they are still comparing themselves to Stern and they just don't understand they will never be on that level. I have said for years that Ron and Fez would have been better served to go to Sirius and be on the Stern channels. Look at what he did for awful Bubba. Short sighted, Stern's run is almost over(he has enough dough) and RF haven't benefited from his exposure. Its not personal, its just business.

I used to be a huge Stern fan but now he is just phoning in the show. A friend turned me on to Ron and Fez and now Im hooked. I got tired of the same old thing on the Stern show.
