I'm looking at houses, want to move by the end of July. I found this house which is 27 miles from work out in the country where I prefer to live. Its been renovated but was built in 1865 and was the officer's quarters for a military school. The price is right for the area
Would you buy an old house with a well and a septic system? Why kind of potential problems should I look for when I walk through it?

That is a neat house. I like the older homes down here usually because the foundation shifted and the work to repair it has already been done. Most everything else I can take care of.
It really depends though on if it was remodled correctly and if it was well taken care of.
