I'm feeling better than I have in 5 years and have a better pee volume than 25 years ago.

I asked my urologist why I didn't do this ten years ago and he dead-panned, "We didn't do it ten years ago." We did it in his office and I had one valium and two darvocets but it didn't keep me from trying to come off the table when he stretched the ureatha out to get his laser tube up in there. He said it was so tight the urine was backing up in the bladder and turning into swamp water causing worse and worse prostate infections.

I watched him do it on his TV monitor and it was like a welding torch with an invisible flame just flaking off the sides. Since then, he was right about almost immediate relief.
I'm so glad to be off Bactrim, Levaquin, Cipro, etc.

When you young guys start getting these prostate attacks, run don't walk to the urologist to see about getting this done - sooner than later. I'm 66 and first started having prostate problems at 37, scared me to death at the time and my old doc just laughed at me.

My question, Dr. Steve, is why have my BM's got so much better and regular too? Everything down there get calmed down too?

Well, if you had a big, fat inflamed prostate, it certainly could have partially blocked your rectum causing difficulty in the ol' poop department. Check out the anatomy:

Notice how the back end of the prostate gland butts (no pun intended) up against the front side of the rectum? Now imagine a prostate 4 times that size and you can get the idea. It's just a guess, but I'm wondering if your monster prostate was causing a partial obstruction in your colon, which resolved when your urologist carved the damn thing out with his laser.

Whatever did it, I'm glad you're feeling better!!!

your pal,

steve

Also, now that I've thought about it, the long cycle of antibiotics and probiotics kept my system screwed up. My prostate hadn't really grown outward, just inward sqeezing off the piss tube. So now that I'm off the strong antibiotics, things may be back to normal in both places.

Am I reading this too quickly? What exactly was the procedure that you had performed?
